Hugh Jackman was visiting the set the week they filmed that scene. I'm sure it was meant to be a tie in to "The Wolverine" and the first two X-Men films. Doesn't seem to be a big deal and wouldn't be what I would consider to be "forced".
It's like Eowyn crawling around with the bad hair in the extended Return of the King. Does it need to be in the theatrical? No, and it isn't.
But it could have been done with anybody. They could have had a guy toss a flaming card at them for trying to join a card game. A girl could have gotten scared of them and ran through a wall. It didn't have to be Wolverine. It could have been anybody else. I don't wonder if it was required of them to have a Wolverine appearance and this was their crafty answer? I most definitely liked the mix of fun with the serious here, and the scene was fun in of itself, but I would rather have had more time with the kids saying how much their powers sucked. Little more depth. Besides, he was the only adult mutant they found? Why go with 5 kids?

Honestly I don't know why it bugs me. If I hadn't have known it was coming would I have liked it better? It just really seemed unnecessary to me, but I guess that is by definition what a cameo is. Everybody else liked it? I'm alone, really?
Maybe again because I'm comparing the two in my mind and Mystique's serves a purpose more than pop? 'Cuse me.
I think they did a Wolverine cameo specifically because, for better or worse, the last four X-Men movies have all revolved around him to some degree. So it's their way of saying definitively, "Yeah, Wolverine definitely won't be involved in the First Class movies -- this is about Charles and Erik". Besides, Wolverine is the only character who'd still be played by the same actor, what with him being immortal and all.But it could have been done with anybody. Cyclops was in the Cerebro section as well, the boy with the baseball glove.
How'd you come to that conclusion?
But where was the STAN LEE cameo????
Did I blink and miss it
or was he absent from the film?
