If I was dropped in my street gear with my handbag, the most useful item I'd have is a half-litre bottle that I'd use to wander away from the water source I'd hopefully find. And a compact mirror to signal rescue planes/helicopters. Perhaps an umbrella. The ribs would probably prove useful.
On water alone, one supposedly survives 3 weeks. If it isn't freezing.
I would be as good as
Elmo at building shelter. But I'd probably still catch cold if I was alone.
Food would be a big problem. I'd be wary of berries and fungi. At best, I'd find wild carrots and onions, if there were clearings. Snails, perhaps, if I had fire (I already don't like them in sauce

). Eggs from birds' nests if it was spring. Without a knife (especially if without an umbrella), I'd be reduced to the stone age.
I would hope to find a way to catch small animals, relying on things from my favourite childhood comic series about a trapper and his Sioux wife, and on my own astuteness. Which is not guaranteed. Are birds attracted to shiny coins? (Besides magpies and crows.)
At least, if I had a fire going, I would know how to keep it. That is a skill I possess. I was taught.
I'd still get sick, though, I'm sure.
That's all I can think of for now. Those who really have survival skills aren't spelling them out like that. It would be much longer.
