Where would you like to serve at?

I'm a grunt at heart, so I'd want to be an engineer on something science-related. All Enterprises and the other main ships of the series are a bit too exciting for me, so maybe just doing maintenance on one of the subspace relay stations would suit me. I would say a scientific research outpost, but we all know what happens to them...

Either that, or I'd go and be a waiter at Sisko's. Seems comfy.

The guy who programs holodeck porn.
Or the guy who tests...

I'm not much of a voyager type... But I do like space & a cool gig. I'd probably grow up watching Spacedock One orbiting Earth my whole life & just be thrilled to have any kind of job thereabouts. Could transport back to Earth for lunch. Maybe pilot, or even just be a courier to the moon or ferry passengers etc...

I'd kinda like to be a civilian freighter captain, like one of those J- or Y-class freighters from ENT's time.

Although if I had my absolute pick of any Trek role to play I'd like to be Transporter Chief Nils Pitcairn from "The Cage".

I don't think I'd have the stomach for Starfleet.
I'd just settle on some beautiful colony, somewhere safe in Federation space and make art or something.

But if it had to be any ship/station from the shows I'd probably say the Enterprise D. I'd say the Ceritos...but I'm not sleeping in a freaking corridor!

Working in Astrometrics on a galaxy class ship sounds like the greatest job ever.

The fact Picard shows disgust at having that exact position at the end of Tapestry is a major factor why that episode isn't one of my favorites

The greatness of a job is relative. Your dream job is someone else's nightmare, and vice versa.

As for me, pretty much anywhere, as long as I don't have to set off my fear of heights.

I felt the same way about Simon Tarses. He seemed to talk like his med tech gig was settling, because he never could do the academy, but I already do a similar job & would take his in a heartbeat. It wouldn't even have to be on a deep space ship like The Enterprise.

Oh if I was to be part of Starfleet and working on a starship I'd want to be a blue shirt for sure! Let the other guys crawl around in Jefferies Tubes or fight Borg and Cardassians.
I'll just be here monitoring this neat new plant we found on a planet :-)

The planet Vulcan. All women are hot and if you just walk to them and say you hadn't have sex for 7 years they will sleep with you because saving your life is the logical thing to do
