She looked so much like Deanna Troi that I have been thinking of her as a villainous Betazoid, maybe one with lower telepathic capabilities.
She didn’t have the Betazoid eyes. She was just a non-Federation human. Like Tasha before she escaped her homeworld.
Didn't really see Deanna other than them both being brunette........she's much taller and Iranian I believe. She looked so much like Deanna Troi that I have been thinking of her as a villainous Betazoid, maybe one with lower telepathic capabilities.
I don’t think she looks that much like Troi. I mean, no she’s not blond, but so are a lot of people. And the eyes are really apparently dissimilar to Betazoid pure black in other photos and on camera. Her eye are almost black (without contacts). Can't get much more Betazoid than that.

It would make sense that a twisted Betazoid would derive pleasure from the things Bjayzl was doing, even if it was also business.
Not necessarily.Betazoids would be able to sense the vileness of their actions and be more easily repulsed by them. Humans, well, open your news app.
PacledShe was a Gideonite. Because, sure, why not?
I just don't see the logic in Resembles Troi = Betazoid, as Troi's features weren't typical of other Betazoids we saw.
He was mentally ill. Not the same thing. Not necessarily.

Yeah, I see it here. But “Bjayzl” is Persian and Sirtis is half Greek half Brit. I definitely see the difference, hair aside. It’s like casting a white person with a tan to play Middle-Eastern. Doesn’t quite work.
Exactly. A passing resemblance to Sirtis does not a Betazoid make.Marina, Majel, Harry Groener and Brad Dourif all wore the black contacts. That seems to be the only common feature.
Why? They have nothing in common.Bjayzl looks so much like Troi (to most of us), that it felt like it couldn't be a coincidence.
I'm sure there is some commonality between peoples of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The Greeks and Persians were all over that region. Even butting heads on occasion.Yeah, I see it here. I’m Greek. I recognize the distinct similarities and differences. I’d never mistake her for Greek. And my first thought of her background appears to have been accurate. I think it’s being played fast and loose with ethnic/species characteristics, and one of the things I liked about Picard are the more sophisticated handling of both. Both Romulans and humans resonated more real for me.I'm sure there is some commonality between peoples of the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The Greeks and Persians were all over that region. And yet.I’m Greek. I recognize the distinct similarities and differences. I’d never mistake her for Greek.
Yeah, the actresses look a lot alike.
Bjayzl looks like it could possibly be a native Betazoid name.
