What is your Favorite Sports Movie?

more favorites: Rocky, Tin Cup, Happy Gilmore, Bull Durham
also good: The Rookie (w/ Dennis Quad), Million Dollar Baby, North Dallas Forty, Slap Shot, Dodgeball
Cadyshack is my #1 & Ted Knight stole the show!

Can't say I watch too many sports movies, so not sure which I would say is my favourite but you have the likes of

Rocky
The Karate Kid

If I'm in a more lighthearted mood perhaps

Wimbledon
Eddie the Eagle

Does

The Hunger Games count as a sport but the best of those movies is "Catching Fire"

If Hunger Games can be included, so can Enter the Dragon.

Other faves include Major League (ignore that sequel), Rudy, and The Natural (especially the finale).

The only way offhand I think that movie could have been improved was the "chucks" scene. When Bruce takes away the chucks and then demonstrates his skill with them (if you've seen it, you probably remember)... that guy should have run away. It would have fit the scene way better.

I also rather liked Moneyball, even though it completely ignored the A's pitchers (Tim Hudson, Barry Zito and Mark Mulder) who contributed so heavily to the '02 team.

The Moneyball movie is very, very fun, but it should never be taken as a historical document, as it plays very fast and loose with everything that happened with the A's that year, particularly with the timelines of player transactions.

The Program is great

Slapshot of course

Any Given Sunday is over the top but still good IMO

Karate Kid

Caddyshack

Any Warren Miller ski movie

If you like surfing and you like documentaries, I highly recommend Step Into Liquid

Here's to the mention of Bad News Bears. A kid fave.

I have a couple others so sorry I am mentioning more than one. I could not really choose.

Bull Duram
A League Of Their Own
Leather Heads

Cool Runnings.

Shaolin Soccer.

There is one more football (soccer) movie whose title i cannot recall for now but it had Stallone playing as a goalkeeper for a team of POWs against their German captors during WW2.
