Well, I still don't for sure that Basil was even in "Day of the Dove." Probably not. But we've got a pretty good Memory Alpha page here to see his face. I'm not the best with faces in little photos.

Perhaps he didn't dove-day, but for me, this conversation's still very educational....because I had no idea he croaked in OBSESSION along with Rizzo and/or ''Stoneface'' Leslie.*

I would imagine such decisions are made at the production level.
