I live in Rhode Island, east coast of the US. This summer, I was in Hawaii, and then in the fall, went to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest.

Munich is about 3900 miles from here
Honolulu is 5100 miles from here

and given all of the Maine talk at the moment, seems like a good time to mention that I grew up in mid-coast Maine

The furthest I have been from my (current) hometown is in fact Miss Chicken's hometown of Hobart (7900 miles). Technically I guess the furthest place is Abel's Bay about 50 km SW of Hobart. Second place is Baoshan (Yunnan, China) at 7375 miles, which took me a while to figure out as the stupid website lists 14 Baoshans with no other information (it was #11).

I think the farthest I've been from home is from Wenatchee, WA (that was my home at the time) to Perth, Western Australia which is apparently 9,334 miles or 15,021 kilometers according to that website.
