What are your favorite Star Trek Quotes?

Frontis

Captain
Captain
Some I like:

Spock: "We will do what we have always done, Jim. We will find hope in the impossible."

Spock: "After a time, you may find that "having" is not so pleasing a thing after all as "wanting". It's not logical, but it's often true."

Scotty: "Never get drunk unless you're willing to pay for it - the next day."

Kirk: "How we deal with death is at least as important as how we deal with life."

Quark: "You're overlooking something. Humans used to be a lot worse than Ferengi. Slavery, concentration camps, interstellar war. We have nothing in our past that approaches that level of barbarism. You see, we're nothing like you. We're better."

Kira: "He wanted to protect the innocent, and separate the darkness from the light. But he didn't realise that a light only shines in the dark."

Worf: "Thinking about what you can't control only wastes energy and creates its own enemy."

B'Elanna: "The Borg wouldn't know fun if they assimilated an amusement park."

Sisko: "That might be the most important thing to understand about Humans. It's the unknown that defines our existence. We are constantly searching, not just for answers to our questions, but for new questions."

Sisko: "On Earth there is no poverty, no crime, and no war. You look out the window and you see Paradise. Well, it's easy to be a saint in Paradise but the Maquis do not live in Paradise."

Sisko: "Running may help for a little while, but sooner or later the pain catches up with you. And the only way to get rid of it is to stand your ground and face it."

Two of my absolute favorites, and they hold even more meaning with every passing year.

"He's really not dead. As long as we remember him."
Dr. Leonard McCoy, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN

"You know that pain and guilt can't be taken away with the wave of a magic wand! They're the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don't want my pain taken away, I need my pain!”
Captain James T. Kirk, STAR TREK V: THE FINAL FRONTIER

"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life." (Jean-Luc Picard to Data, in Peak Performance)

(I wonder how James "I don't believe in a no-win scenario" Kirk would have responded to that, though)
One of my favorites, as well. Scenes like this illustrate why Picard and Data together in any scene are absolute gold.

“If I were human, I would say go to hell. If I were human.” Spock, TUC

“Among all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most… human.” Kirk, TWOK

The best one:

“There are many parts of my youth that I'm not proud of. There were... loose threads - untidy parts of me that I would like to remove. But when I... pulled on one of those threads - it had unraveled the tapestry of my life.” Picard, Tapestry

My hubby can't get over: There-are-4-lights!

He belts it out at least half a dozen times a year and I keep thinking that if he says it again I'm going to have to hit his face with his favourite carbon steel frying pan, (we have been together for over 19 years...that's a lot of 4 lights).

But recently, we saw a license plate labelled something like "4lights" and got giggly. So maybe I'll let him repeat it 3 more times before I bust out that pan.

For no particularly good reason, I always remember “AALLWAYSS TAAALK STAAAR FLEEEEET!”

So at work, if I happen to come across a client company name with the word “Fleet” as part of it, you probably don’t want to be around me. Good thing I work from home now…

There are others, but I'll open with...

"You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: 'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.' Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie, as wisdom and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged."

From Jean-Luc Picard, delivering a devastating counter to Adm. Satie's accusations against him.

And also...

"..."

From Admiral Thomas Henry, who brought the whole kangaroo court to a crashing halt without saying a word.
