USS Enterprise F, G, H, I.

As you are aware we know of several Enterprises.

Constitution Class 1701
Excelsior Class 1701-B
Ambassador Class 1701-C
Galaxy Class 1701-D
Sovereign Class 1701-E
Unknown Class 1701-J (as seen in ENT)

But as you can see there's a gap between E and J of 4 ships.

I think it would be interesting to see what kind of designs people here could come up with for each of those 4 missing ships. You can also tell us what Class of vessel they each are.

They don't have to be super awesome graphical designs, you can make a fresh design from scratch or try kitbashing from other designs.

Anyone who is interested feel free to design 4 new ships for the Enterprises and post them in this thread.

I will also be designing 4 ships.

Feel free also to give some background information on the ships you design and explain why you chose that design and why you think the Enterprise the Federations prize flagship would be made into that kind of class vessel.

Here is the Frontier-class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-F. She's a very back-to-basics Heavy Cruiser / Explorer designed for border presence and deep space exploration. Captain Oncarou na' Gabriel commands her and her crew of 515.

}not pictured, but she's a Casablanca-class escort fighter-carrier{
The U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-G, was - like the rest of her class - designed to utilize her fighter complement and shipboard weapons to safely escort cargo vessels, diplomatic vessels, and colonization convoys. She was commanded by Captain Frank Lassiter, and saw action during the period of resurgant pirate activity in the years leading up to the final breaking of the Orion Syndicate. She was destroyed with a loss of all hands by crewperson sabotage, a crewperson who was later believed by Starfleet Intelligence to have been influenced or even outright replaced by the D'Agla Nok.

The Nogura-class Flagships are designed from the keel out to be flagships. Each has a flag bridge for fleet command and control in addition to its primary and auxillary bridges. They carry crews of 4094, and are veritable cities in space. The U.S.S. Triumphant, NCC-170090, is the flagship of Commodore Sara Chandler's Task Group 808 under the direct command of Captain Richard Bateson. The U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-170100 (my fanfic does NOT lead to a NCC-1701-H, or to the -J), is the flagship of Admiral Talgha Shellas's Home Fleet, under the direct command of Captain Jan (pronounced 'Yan') Sorka.

...and after that, who knows?

I'd much rather people put pen to paper than make these types of kitbashes. They only ever look ugly, no matter how good the original idea. Pencil sketches might not have the air of technology about them, but at least they're original and convey the original idea properly. When I see cut & paste stuff on a site it always puts me off going there again. Starship Schematics Trek section is a case in point, full of the most amateurish cut & pastes I've ever seen. You have to go through an awful lot of garbage to find a gem there.

Depends on your standards ofcourse, but I have to agree, after seeing another variant of a Conny with a third nacelle, it's time to move out. However the website has some good designs as well, it's just hard to work through the entire list. :)

About the Enterprise F; I'm planning on doing one somewhere this year. (Project Florence) I want to give it more elegance then I'm used too. :)

I rather like this particular one. :techman:

Thanks!

"My" version of the -F is actually the design my best friend came up with for his fanfic ship. I've never been all that fond of it, to tell the truth, but since we decided we would work in different parts of the timeline in the same fanfic universe, it stays. Besides, I think it is sort of realistic that I wouldn't love every ship design.

As for my design, it may sorta qualify as a "kitbash", but I spent a considerable amount of time on it about 15 years ago, using nothing but Paint in my brand-spanking-new copy of Windows 95. The design obviously harkens back to TOS-movie era designs, but I've never had any problem with that. I mean, heck, look at the current Mustang and Camaro.

Those of you who have hated on the art I posted can do so all you like - but be aware that, by virtue of being the ONLY person to post art in the thread so far if for no other reason, my designs are the best in the thread! :p ;)

And although I am a doctor, not an art critic, I commend you for being willing to jump into this tank of sharks.

Yeah, you did your bit, cant argue with that.

We're not ragging on you, yours are actually not bad examples of the genre (as kaiser pointed out) and you did actually draw on them. Unfortunately the vast majority look vile, disparate bits shuffled around around a blank page. It's not something I'd encourage people to do, I'd rather they drew or got themselves sketchup.

Just thought I'd mention that the "real" Enterprise-J may not look anything like what we saw in the ENT episode. That ep took place in an alternate future which will now never happen (it depended on the Sphere Builders and the Expanse, both of which have been destroyed). So the timeline will surely play out a lot differently now.

Just to let you know, it's possible that there won't be an Enterprise I, O, S, or Z because those designations looks too similar to 1, 0, 5 and 2 per naval naming practices (or so I've read somewhere). So there may only be three ships between the E and the J, not four.

I agree that those images look like ships from the late 2200's.

I doubt this will be a problem. It's not like the only way to see a ship is to look out the window; its transponder will broadcast the name and registry, so any other ship will know which it is just by checking their sensors. And of course you can *say* I, O, S and Z and not have people be confused as to which you mean.
