I just went to see Live Free or DIE HARD!!!  and I noticed that Star Trek Voyager's own Tim Russ had minor role in the motion picture. I encourage ALL fans to go out and see this movie with Bruce Willis and Tim Russ. It's nice to see Tim working again since Voyager!! :)

I saw him when I watched LFoDH last week. He's only got like two lines but it's cool.

What's funny is that he sounds EXACTLY like Tuvok...I thought that was an act :) Looks quite a bit older too.

Yeah, I noticed him, too. Doesn't have much to do, but at least he's there.

And yeah, he does look & sound just like Tuvok in 'Endgame', only without the ears.

Yeah, I agree but at least he is working in a major movie. :)

a) told you he'd be in the movie ;)

b) I think it's the Tuvokian delivery what won him the part - after all, the character is a DHS agent with apparently an extremely high level of security clearance. He knows things that somebody else doesn't. People that reach such a position often are very matter-of-fact, reliable, rational, calm under pressure. You wouldn't want to trust somebody with top-security secrets if you'd imagine that person to get emotional/start to panic in an emergency. They were most definitely looking for somebody that could pull off calm, rational, matter-of-fact - somebody that would not be overly emotional, even when close to a major catastrophe.

yes, told you so, too. That he will be in the series, I mean. Except, the title has changed in the meantime. Even twice. First it was "Sam I Am", then it was "Samantha Be Good", and now it is "Samantha Who?" Apparently there was a copyright issue with the Dr. Seuss-estate, so they could not use the original title "Sam I Am".

And they changed the title, it's now "Samantha Who?"

I wondered how come I hadn't seen you around here yet! Have you seen Die Hard 4 yet? I know it's not your normal kind of thing, but...

Yep, I've seen it. I mean, with Tim in it, I had to, right? ;-) And you are right, it's not my normal kind of thing.... it's as one of my brothers once described a movie: "Lots of action, but not much of a story". But it was sort of entertaining. Some of the stunts were so unrealistic that it was really fun!

That's what I thought. For myself, I'm thinking "it's a Die Hard movie so I've got to see it..."

Exactly my kind of flick. I reckon I'll be seeing it tomorrow...

My daughter is a Disney Channel comedy "Hanna Montana" fan. I was watching an ep with her last week and saw Tim Russ as a doctor. One episode only. He did well, I thought, though the part was very small.

I'm glad to see him working. His career hasn't exactly been on fire since Voyager ended, which is a shame because he's quite talented.

I agree!!!

I recognized him. Although Tuvok really never did anything for me physically like Chakotay, it was good to see Tim on screen again after all these years.

Sung Kang with a ponytail was in this film too. He sure is a hottie with a nice body. :)

Am I wrong or did Mr. Russ gain some weight?

But it was nice to see him anyway. He was the best of the VOY actors ...

My wife and I decided to go and rewatch again "Live Free or Die Hard" for the second time. Tim Russ plays the part of Chuck Summers but he only has a few minutes in the film, but we really enjoyed watching this action pack movie yet again. Go out and see it, You will enjoyed it!!!! :)

Hi!

It so happens that I just met Tim this weekend at Vulkon's Sci-Fi Expo in Columbus, Ohio. Among other things he also talked about filming "Live Free and Die Hard". He says when he came there, they didn't have a script for him, he only got a few pages with his lines - and only what he needed for the day. He had no clue what the story was all about and it was pretty strange to work like that. He thinks they did this, because they wanted to prevent story details from leaking out.

And yes, his part is minor, but it's actually pretty important stuff. After all, he has the information about that compound, where all the financial data is stored and he knows what kind of damage Gabriel could do with it.
