Dates are the ultimate legacy admissions, riding the coattails of their predecessors. Everything has been handed down to them. Need a world-class athlete? Call a Dax. Need an engineer? Call a Dax? Need someone who write possessed music and can bring the Klingons to talk, call a Dax. Need someone who is both creepy old man and ingenue, call a Dax. Need to know what evil lurks in your plumbing, call Trip, but a Dax might lend a hand. Dax can be your entire crew.

The only reason a crewmember should summer a captain--which happens far too often--is to get a swift kick in the ass. IRL, that crewmember would be dressed down so hard their ears would ring for weeks.

I have not been in the Navy, so do correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that if the captain was not on the bridge when something Bad was about to happen, they were urged and required to call the captain to the bridge?

Call, inform, yes. Tell him to come down without explanation? No. Ironically, this kind of behavior was called out on Voyager when Seven insisted Janeway and Chakotay were ordered to Stellar Cartography.

Honestly, Dax was among my least favorites. Maybe it was the writing and not Terry. The stories that featured her early on were tedious. In the end though, she was part of DS9 and I appreciate the better stories. Should she have hooked up with Worf? It seemed interesting. I loved the wedding photo. Why’d they have to kill her? Not sure about show runners decisions. They gave Dukat something terrible to do. In the end it was a tragedy .

As somebody who has had a crush on Jadzia for like 30 years now I could slap you for even asking that question! Of course she’s perfect!

Insanely smart, goofy, wise, playful, down to earth, gorgeous (sorry, it’s true) and hardcore.

Really liked her stuff with the Klingons but also pretty much her interactions with everyone on the crew as well.

So the answer is - yes, she’s that great.
