The USFL is back? Why?

The final regular season game has the worst two teams facing off. Nationally televised prime time.

If you weren't told their win-loss records, you wouldn't know who the good and bad teams were just by their gameplay.

The Roughnecks now have the worst record in the UFL and the lowest attendance record. If this league survives into next year, I don't think the Roughnecks will. If they do, I hope they get new helmets. Those Roughneck helmets suck.

UFL championship Sunday. It's in St. Louis. I wonder how bad attendance will be since neither team is St. Louis.

Whichever quarterback is more accurate at the five-yard dump off pass wins.

I'd like to see Wade Phillips and San Antonio win. Last live football game until this fall, so I'll be watching because of that if nothing else.

ABC aired a PLL lacrosse match today and damn, the empty seats were giving me UFL vibes. They're a traveling league but this year they gave teams city/state names. Not sure what it's supposed to do for the league. Does it create local interest to have a team the fans would only see once per year?

Awfully quiet today. Everybody must be off getting amped for the UFL Championship Game.

Tonight's UFL opener is going forward even though there's no CBA. The players are seeking either year-round health care or a wage increase that would let them pay for their own health care.

Very ugly game for Houston. Can’t imagine them winning more than one or two games.

That is one empty stadium!

Unless the TV money is that good, spring football will always be treading water until the investors decide they've lost enough money. None of the cities care about their teams (except St. Louis), the QBs all suck so there will never be dynamic play and football has so many people on and off the field you have to pay.

The original USFL was somewhat popular because of the big name college stars they brought in, but the teams were paying for them with money they didn't have.

They might need to be tweaked, but I’m generally a fan of how they run the clock.

I think all the spring leagues going back to the AAF beat the betting drums hard because gamblers might be the best audience they can get. They're certainly not getting anyone else to watch. Surprised they kept the Houston Roughnecks name over the Houston Gamblers name.
