The Star Trek Into Darkness teaser trailer is here!

That looks like the Transamerica Pyramid in the aerial shot of San Francisco. Cool. We saw it in the last film, too, and chronologically it's been seen in skyline shots of the city dating back to the Director's Edition of TMP.

Good consistency.

So has the Golden Gate bridge... I mean, they're both real structures in real life... not really surprising, is it?

My guess it is Pike's hand we see on the glass after being poisoned with delta radiation with Kirk looking in horror as well as Uhura and Scotty.

I think you're probably right, that thought occured to me as well. And Pike is a bit of a mentor to Kirk, so it would have a big impact on him.

Man, those pranks he and Kirk played on one another at the Academy must have really backfired at some point.

"That flaming bag of sehlat poo was the last straw, Jimmy Boy...that was me last good pair of Starfleet service boots I ruined...and now you...and the entire bloody Federation...

are gonna pay."

Death by delta ray poisoning? What didn't kill him in the Prime timeline kills him in the parallel one?

Interesting.

Star Trek Revenge of the Nerds

Then why not call it something else? If you want to base a movie from a popular franchise than have the movie be based on that, not a loosely related story with some iconic names to make you feel that it's Star Trek.

Then what would a trailer have to look like to make it feel like Star Trek to you?

Green women, ripped velour and styrofoam rocks, dammit.

I want my green women, ripped velour and styrofoam rocks or else...

BOYCOTT!

I love it, just the right amount of footage and mystery, and a villain who starts off his campaign slamming one of Starfleets own ships out of orbit into their headquarters? this is going to be good.

Finally! A Star Trek feature film about a snarling villain out for revenge that eschews that whole 'exploration' thing in lieu of endless space combat!

It'd be nice if - for once - the next Star Wars film had to outdo a Trek movie. "Did you see what Abrams and the Trek folks did in their last film? Man, we're gonna have to make Episode VII kick serious ass or else..."

The more I look at it, the ship thats heading into the water, looks like an NX-class-like ship, and that's Enterprise rising out of the water earlier on.

That looks so good, I'm really excited for this.

I hope the TWOK shot is between Spock and Pike, it'd be more of a homage than a re-hash.

As for the villain, of the top three contenders I hope it's Garth but I think it's likely to be Mitchell.

OK. I've watched the teaser about ten times now. All of a sudden, I don't care who the villain is. I'm hooked, anyway. The longer the wait to ID Cumberbatch, the more anti-climcatic it will be. J.J., unless this character has "blow-your-socks-off" name recognition, IMHO you're overplaying your hand here.

One other thing. Does it matter to anyone who thinks it's Mitchell that Cumberbatch is wearing a sciences blue tunic? What color tunic was he wearing in the comic?

It looks like the Enterprise is rising steadily from an ocean, possibly on the same planet that Kirk and Sulu are on with the red algae forest.

The other ship is almost NX/Jay in appearance, slamming into the San Francisco bay, rather shallow (relatively speaking)

What's interesting is that other ship looks the same shiny white "new" construction like the Enterprise, not the battered old mules from the first film. Guys not a villain two minutes and he's already wrecking the good ships.

My guess from the trailer is that the villain knocks the ships out of orbit and they come crashing down on the planet and we are seeing people flee with horror as they see these ships crashing on top of them.

I was so thinking the same thing.if this movie turns out to be a masterpiece, I will comfortably have no problem with the third film coming out in 2015 the year of the rebooted star wars.of course the trek and wars producers will have to decide which one comes out in the summer and winter period of 2015.

also there is the money part. Before Nolan's Batman series no batman film ever dreamed of going over a billion dollars or even making 500 million dollars at the global box office.

trek 09 made more money than batman begins which means trek 2013 can break a billion.

In Japanese trailer, who is wearing blue uniform makes Vulcan salute, and other one that touches the glass is left-handed. Greenwood is left-handed.
