There have been so many Starfleet captains across so many Star Trek series... and I always come back to this man. Patrick Stewart. I grew up with Shatner as Kirk. And I had some bias into the start of TNG. But in time, as Stewart took command of his role, I became mesmerized. He became my favorite captain and that has never changed.

And talk about a blessed man. It has been great to see his career take off since TNG. Some rocky moments, but the roles kept coming and he made the most of them. I have to say that I was rather unsure about ST Picard at first. Given his advanced age... could he really pull it off? Obviously he has slowed down. He doesn't have the vitality he once had. But he does a remarkable job all things considered. I had a feeling this series wouldn't last past 3 seasons. I'm glad Stewart didn't push for a 4th season. This will round off his Star Trek legacy quite well.

So a memoir... I'm eager to read this book. I watched the Colbert interview and from some of the things he said, I have a strong feeling it'll be very worthwhile. Never underestimate someone 80+ years old. Their life wisdom can be enormous.

Yeah, it's gonna be a very interesting book, that's for sure. I'm sure it'll feature some stories he's never told (among a lot of stories that he has told many times). He's an amazing man. I don't blame him for slowing down now, and I'm glad he's doing it. I don't mind that he isn't out and about as often anymore and that he isn't going to as many Hollywood events anymore etc etc.
