The first episode of Picard introduced us to one of the new regulars and her name is Dr. Agnes Jurati, played by Alison Pill. One thing about TNG was that it was the kind of show to inspire others to go into the sciences and this character looks to be one of the few to bring some of that back to Trek. So, this is the place to tell us about what you like and where you think the character will or should go.

I kinda liked her, but she definitely could have used more personality and more texture. I wasn't exactly champing at the bit to learn more about her. She was....fine. But kinda just there. Maybe when she has more to do other than delivering exposition....

I had the impression because of her calling Maddox simply Bruce, that she and him were maybe in a romantic relationship. She might be his ex.

Alison Pill deserves kudos as an actor. This isn't it.

Pill is 34 and could play plus or minus a few years. Maddox disappeared after the incident on Mars. "After" leaves some wiggle room to suggest it doesn't have to be the year of the Mars attack. Agnes could have very well been 22 and straight out of the Academy and recruited to Daystrom or recruited from the Academy itself.

I like the character a lot and what she is doing. She adds lightness to the proceedings. Kind of more well-adjusted Tilly. Making her a synch seems to predictable. Pill is a actor who is often in demand so I could see her being killed off at some point. My other theory is she is main villain of entire story. Maddox is actually dead and not missing and she killed him. Maybe Romulan undercover via surgery. Or she grew up on the Enterprise as a kid. I recall awhile back their was talk of one of the characters having spent time on the Enterprise-D back in the day.

I watched the original Swedish version. Looking at the trailer seems to be pretty faithful remake, I recognise most of the scenes.

I am actually starting to wonder if she may be a Big Bad of the season. Very innocent looking but perhaps she "disappeared" Bruce and created things after that. Just spitballing and looking for a twist where I would least expect it.........I am keeping my eye on her. Most likely 1000% wrong.
