Why does it feel like all through season 3 the game felt abandoned? No new content at all for over a year and reskinned stuff branded as new?

I'm not even playing it any more and it's been 6 weeks and counting.

I know... I was sad to hear the news about the cancellation, but the game just feels like it's been abandoned.
