The bridge of the USS Galaxy

That's pretty neat. Seems like the captain might be yelling "down in front!" to the Conn guy a lot though.

I've alway found this deck desgin really wrong & now we can see how odd it really is.

Picard "Red Alert !, Engineering team to side toilet as there's a fawl stench !"

No wooden wishbone? No spot for the therapist is sit? Don't you know anything about starship design?

Just joking, looks pretty cool. Though that guy up front is kinda weird.

Ow! just realised this isn't the same Galaxy bridge design seen in TNG. I know Captains are often lonely, but this lonely on the bridge by themselfs. Should put something more near them or it's gonna be like sitting in the middle of a emty room. Also get the conn some glass' as he's not going to see very well after been that near the screen.

Where will the C.O. be without a chair right next to him in which a shrink can sit and offer analysis?

ALIEN ON VIEWER: GRR! We will destroy you!
COUNSELOR: (softly to captain): He's angry.

Thanks for the comments so far. This design was intentional. I eliminated the horseshoe as it has become cliche. The counselor is on the front station opposite the XO. The rest are science and engineering stations. I isolated the captain intentionally as he represents the ship. I put the conn at the very front as I believe he is looking at his console more than the screen. Thanks for all the suggestions, again.

Good ideas but the XO & counselor should be stationed near the captain as the XO is supposed to be able to get in the face of the captain if they disagree with a order, while the counselor is there to observe the mental state & keep the captain & crew on the same page. The problem is that you've pushed them out of sight of the captain & in turn this diminishes the power they hold on the bridge.

Why did the helm not respond when the captain order him to take them to that second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning ?

A - The helm forgot billy no mates captain existed.
B - He just never heard him been so far forward.
C - He & the rest of the crew are unhappy after the captain decided he'd block out the crews side toilet when he had diarrhea last week.
D - Or he now hates the captain for making him blind by sticking him in front of that large screen for hours strait.

I like it. It's a nice variation on the Enterprise-D bridge, which was never one of my favorites. One suggestion, though. Try moving the Captain, Conn, Ops, and Tactical back a little bit. That should eliminate the wasted space in the back, and help with the conn officer's eyesight.

Although, TNG first season had a blind conn officer, and he never hit anything.

It's an interesting idea, but I have to say it looks rather empty in the back and around the CO, and rather scrunched up in the front. You might want to try shifting things back to balance things out. Maybe some inspiration from the Yesterday's Enterprise bridge rather than the Generations bridge as far as the side stations go, or perhaps moving the tactical and ops consoles behind the CO.

Someone needs to get the helmsman some Retinax Five STAT.

Its not a bad design but you may want to move back the Tactical and Ops posts as suggested (maybe do something similar to the Enterprise-C with them on the platform below the Captain and then the helm on a platform lower than that).

Just a suggestion though.

Better, but still a lot of wasted space in the rear portion of the bridge, and it looks like it would be hard to get around the consoles.

Both the original and the tweak make it very hard to get to either of the forward doors without tripping over the consoles, especially with a railing and stairs crammed in there. The path from the captain's chair to his ready room involves a tight squeeze past the OPS console and the railing just after trying to get down the stairs without running into OPS. And the bridge crew would have to walk single-file to get to the emergency turbo. No -- it is much too crowded in the forward part of the bridge -- so completely impractical that no Starfleet engineer would ever design it that way. And you think the bridge railing is cliché, but you do just about everything else straight from half the bridges in Trek? :wtf:

Good points. Tweak 2.

Moved tactical back to behind the CO and restored the "well" to the traditional 2 stations. I think this shows a good TOS era - TNG era step.

You might want to use this as help as it's similer to your design.
Dose anyone know where I can find the Pathfinder class as I can't find any websites with it since the Miranda RPG site closed.

I'm worried that, in Squiggyfm's version, the captains chair is too close to the top of those steps. One misstep, one torpedo impact, one sudden manoeuvre, and the CO takes a tumble.

Going back to the CaptainSerek's original post, have Tactical on the port side, opposite the XO position. Get rid of the far forward Conn position, which is too close to the main screen. Move Ops forward far enough for people to get past it, with a Conn position next to it (like in TNG's Enterprise). The big empty space at the back could have a couple more stations, or perhaps a large 'coffee table' style situation board. Maybe (depending on when this is set) one of those hologram communication systems that the Defiant carried in "For The Uniform".
