The Best Couples of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy World

Which sci-fi/fantasy couple/couples had you rooting the most for their relationship/relationships? What made them so special to you?
This couple or couples can either come from a movie, a TV show, or a book of the sci-fi/fantasy genre.

My vote would be for Aeryn Sun and John Crichton on Farscape. They had great chemistry.
Got it in one. Ben Browder and Claudia Black were just fantastic together. It's almost too bad that they both ended up starring in the latter seasons of SG-1 together; even as Mitchell and Vala, they still had loads of chemistry.

John Crichton / Aeyrn Sun from Farscape all the way. It is not just the chemistry of Ben and Claudia. In Farscape the writing and romance story of these characters were so well written and laid out with character backgrounds , evolutions , everything they go through it is increadible

After that I would pick up John Sheridan and Delenn in Babylon 5...Again different world and cultures but they also find common points despite all differences...

Chakotay and Seven of Nine.

All those great episodes building their relationship slowly and subtly. The Harry Kim angst. Janeway having to let her favorite former Borg live her own life. And then the pure chemistry of Chakotay and Seven.

Oh wait, no that only happened in the mirror universe Voyager.

Sheridan/Delenn and John/Aeryn

But in the realm of wrong pairings that you rooted for even though you knew you shouldn't: Buffy/Spike. :D

Oh, and the Doctor and Rose. :)

Or Sinclair and Delenn...oh, wait that never happened since Michael O'Hare left the show. But I wished that it had. I thought Furlan had better chemistry with O'Hare than Boxleitner. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the Sheridan and Delenn relationship despite it, at times, getting a little too saccharin.

My favorite Sheridan and Delenn moment is where she promises to catch him if he falls from the inclined Minbari bed in "Messages from Earth". I love how it foreshadows the events on Z'ha'dum in a what could be perceived as a throwaway gag. Of course, you don't realize that until the early fourth season.

But in the end, my favorite couple in SF/Fantasy, in any medium, is Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Or could that be seen as a triplet?

John and Aeryn. No contest.

Although I will say that I really enjoyed the brief relationship we saw from Sawyer and Juliet in Season 5 of LOST.

Han and Leia

Buffy and Angel

Clark/ Superman and Lois

The Doctor and Rose (they never got it together and the Doctor is generally asexual but they had great chemistry anf their last scenes together had great poignancy)

Captain Jack and Xanto (heartbreaking final scenes in COE. Brokeback Mountain wasn't half as compelling and I mean that quite sincerely)

Worf and Jadzia

O'Brien and Bashir (okay, I'll stop now).

^ :guffaw:

Another vote for John/Aeryn, Sheridan/Delenn and Jack/Ianto.

Add to the list DS9's Miles & Julian. ;)

I can't think of many I've actually really enjoyed, but then I'm not of a very romantic inclination. Tigh/Ellen is the first thing that comes to mind, and I think I'll stick with that. A belated nod to Han/Leia also, because hey, why not?

Or Sinclair and Delenn...oh, wait that never happened since Michael O'Hare left the show. But I wished that it had. I thought Furlan had better chemistry with O'Hare than Boxleitner.
Agreed.
