I had that issue. It was funny that Batman said that Bruce Wayne owed him a favor, that's why he was disguised as Bruce Wayne.

I loved JLI.
Keith Giffen, JM DeMatteis, Kevin McGuire and Adam Hughes were just gold. Almost forgot the editor, Andy Helfer.
I think the book really helped set my tastes in entertainment. Tell thoughtful stories, but don’t take yourself too seriously.
That whole setup was a great variation on the "Batman gathers intel as Bruce" trope that stretches back to the Golden Age, made appearances in the '66 series, the Nolan movie and even the Snyder films and is sadly largely lost in most modern comics.
The heart and soul of the franchise right there. “Clark meets Lois” is where it really begins. All else is prelude.
