Starship FARRAGUT: The CROSSING

No official announcement, but Wayland Strickland posted last night in one of the Farragut groups that there are some additional vfx shots being added that weren't finished in time. They really do want to make it the best possible film it can be. Unfortunately, that means that last night's release didn't happen and there's not a forecast for it at the moment. As much as we all want to see it, getting it right, rather than right now, will be worth it in the end, IMHO...

They should simply stop giving out release times that can't be met. Otherwise, as is, their credibility gets shot.

Perhaps I missed it, but I haven't seen any official public release date, bar the one given for screening it at a convention (which they met) and screening it to donors (which was also done). So while I can unnerstand why it might be disappointing, I'm not sure it's any sort of fair criticism.

Actually, there hasn't been any "official" release date posted. I, as a fan, have simply been trying to provide info as I've read it to give folks as much of a heads up as possible on the release. That doesn't take away from Farragut's credibility at all since there has been no official announcement. I want to see it as badly as anyone, but I'm willing to wait until it's done right.

I probably shouldn't have said anything at all and waited until it was actually out there. No good deed goes unpunished, and all of that... :-)

I have occasionally been accused of having a dirty mind, but I can't be the only person who thinks the rift looks like a giant space vagina?

Also: at approximately 25:04, a few frames from the previous scene pop into this scene.

This episode is exceptional. They just keep on getting better and better. The story was engaging, the acting, visual effects and music were well done. I especially liked the aesthetics in the scene where the bombs were set off onboard the Farragut and the resulting light effects on the bridge. Trust me, even if you don’t plan to watch the whole film, at least watch that scene (Time Index 29:53-30:56). :techman:

The sets were amazing, although they should use some masking tape on the transporter room consul to straighten out the paint edges. Also I did notice one possible continuity error. When Donnelly took command of the I.S.S. Potemkin, he adorns the gold tunic (29:48). But when he beams over to the U.S.S. Farragut (31:20) he has changed back into his blue tunic with gold sash that he wore before. He then changes back into command gold again (37:58).

I look forward to their next episode and to their new series, ‘Farragut Forward’ and ‘Trek Isolation’.

I don’t see the resemblance myself. I suppose we could post side by side comparison photos...

...but I think that that might be against the board rules!

What did look a bit rude to me is one of Donnelly’s medals.

Yes, I see what you mean. I did not spot that at first until you pointed it out.
