The premiere was last night, and for what it's worth, I really enjoyed it. It didn't seem to have some of the baggage that the Arrowverse shows have these days. It was a good introduction to Courtney.
I thought it was odd that they chose the Star Spangled Kid rather than one of the many Starmans to be Starman.
Still, I want to know more about the world that they are building, especially the JSA. I'm hoping it is later revealed that not all of them are dead. Would love to see Jay Garrick or Alan Scott or Wildcat.

Loved the "Action Movers" truck. Knew I had successfully indoctrinated my wife in all things Super when she also got it and laughed.

I thought it was a fun show...saw it with my 9 year old
The death scene seemed a tad silly ("you're definitely NOT it...")
But a real good start. And having Courtney be a gymnast adds to some"realism" of her being in fight scenes, though the gymnastics were mediocre effects.
I too hope we get John Wesley Schipp Flash again.

Are you banned from the Streaming service or something?
Nope. Just budgeting my entertainment dollars like everyone else. I'm already paying for one streaming service (for STAR TREK) so that's enough for now. Heck, there's more stuff on basic cable than I have time to watch.
But the good news is that I found it On Demand this morning, so I'm now full Stargirled.
Fun show so far. I like the tone and look of it, and looking forward to seeing more of S.T.R.I.P.E. next week.

It's kind of funny that this is a show that deals with a magic staff that could give Courtney super powers, but the part that I found most unrealistic was the idea that a pretty blonde could be so unpopular in high school.
Thanks for sharing that, I was wondering how much was cut.
Most of that seems rather insignificant, but I am surprised they cut the scene with Pat looking at the map, and Brainwave and Icicle's conversation, those seem like pretty big sets for the season arc.
I really enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun. Most of the characters are likeable, and the set up for the season story with the Injustice Society, and Courtney's dad were good.
Granted, I could probably deduct it on my taxes as a working expense . . . .

I just checked the version on TheCW website, which is usually the same as the On Demand, and it was 42 minutes long, which I'm pretty sure is the shorter version.
That was a fun premiere.
I like that the staff is a puppy.

It was okay and Brec is very cute, cuter than Melissa Benoist, but the JSA at the beginning of the episode seemed rather pathetic. They were no match for the baddies. Was that the Alan Scott Green Lantern being shot through the roof when Pat arrived at the house? Starman was especially bad. I don't understand how he survived so long as a superhero. He has no invulnerability, just the power of the Cosmic Staff, yet he keeps letting his guard down in the middle of a battle. Any real superhero like that wouldn't have had a very long career.
The JSA, especially the original line up, would eat the JLA for breakfast. Early 40s Spectre and Doctor Fate were basically godlike beings, power wise. More Modern incarnations would also kick the JLA's ass probably 8/9 times out of 10, partially through sheer numbers, experience (for many of its members) and because they match or exceed most of the JLA's heavy hitters.
Just doing some match ups in my head: Power Girl is a kryptonian and regardless of what some comics have said is almost certainly an equal to Superman (and possibly without the Kryptonite weakness), Mr. Terrific is smarter than Batman and almost as skilled at the areas Batman is, Alan Scott is basically a being of pure magic and could probably kick the space cop GL's asses, Hippolyta could probably match Diana or close to it, , Jesse Quick teamed with Jay Garrick could probably outmatch Barry or Wally, almost any version of Dr. Fate beats Zatanna, etc. Then you have characters like JJ Thunder who has a literal genie at his command, Sand who can control the Earth and has visions of the future, Wildcat who is a great fighter with 9 lives (that replenish themselves over time according to an issue near the end of the last JSA run), Hawkman and Hawkwoman who are just generally accomplished heroes, I could go on forever.
Take popularity bias out of the equation, and the JSA is at least a match for the JLA even in the more modern versions of the JSA where a bunch of of its members are 90+ year olds with the bodies of people in their mid to late 60s.

The JSA is an amazing group of heroes. I am hoping that with the exception of Starman, the rest will be proven to still be alive.
