With knowledge from the next episode, we can expand on one meeting in "Crossroads":
Knowing that Asencia is a Vau N'akat spy, we can see how manipulative she is when meeting Gwyn. It looks suspicously like she had seen Gwyn and was waiting for a good moment to show herself (probably observing her, maybe confused that the kidnapped daughter of her Vau N'akat colleague was walking around on her own, seemingly of her own free will), which presented itself when the Klingon threatened her.
(As an aside, that Klingon was probably lucky that Asencia intervened, as he was trying to take an object of Gwyn that is a remotely activated weapon.)
After Gwyn thanks her, she uses the opportunity to introduce herself as Ensign Asencia, and does it in such a way that she invites Gwyn to say her own name. Given the circumstances, there is no doubt that she knows she is talking to the Diviner's daughter, but for her cover she has to get Gwyn to say her name (so she can act all surprised).
However, her reaction to the news of her father being onboard the Dauntless still seemed to take Ascencia by surprise, as she went too fast in an attempt to get Gwyn to come with her (expressing great interest in locating the Protostar being a big no-no).
I suppose Ascencia will have learnt from this and the next attempt to manipulate her will be more subtle, possibly she will use her true appearance and appeal to the side of Gwyn that wants to connect to her own kind.
