They are uniforms. Not costumes.
They are uniforms. Not costumes.
When you're playing the part of an officer, it's a costume.
If you're a real officer, it's a uniform.
When simply seeing stark text on a screen, it is easy to miss humor. Especially when one is new on a messageboard. the addition of "They are uniforms. Not costumes.

I posted a pic of me in a Star Trek costume, being phasered by a famous Aussie starlet, and you wanna know about my lack of sense of humour?
There was nothing in your post to indicate humour eg, so I assumed you were serious.
Nice to see you had a red shirt on there, Therin (isn't that your old "Therin of Andor" redshirt?). Made all the more sense for "Amber" to phaser you...![]()
Oh I know. When I bought mine I was like, NO WAY am I going to not get it tailored. I'm an overly skinny guy anyways, for length I need a medium, but for width I'd need a small or extra small. So I got a medium, but it would just look so weird if it wasn't tailored. Especially since it's supposed to be a mostly form fitting outfit.I've often thought about getting a FC undershirt to just wear as a normal top. I'd get it tailored though. I always LOL when I see people in off the rack uniforms that hang off them so unflatteringly.

Yep. I had TMP, ST II and TNG uniforms/costumes available but they needed TOS, of course.
For the nine years I had the beard, poor ol' Therin was unavailable. Ditto Robin the Boy Wonder. I spent more time impersonating Tellarites (and ST III's Maltz) in those intervening years.
Yes I need to get it tailored. Just not sure were to go at this point. My biggest complaint is The sholder seams are hanging off my shoulders. They also have shoulder pads in them. Not sure if they should or need to be there. And the sleeves are way to long. I tucked them under for the pictures.I've often thought about getting a FC undershirt to just wear as a normal top. I'm not into the dressing up thing, but I'll bet I can beat you at Star Trek Scene It.
