Star Trek Beyond Enterprise NCC-1701-A Redesign

Hey, remember when I posted this back in 2018? The original idea was to try to improve on the Enterprise-A we see at the end of Star Trek Beyond... but I got sidetracked a bit, and then got into a host of other designs.

But today I want to get back to that original idea, again mixing some refit Enterprise stuff along with the Kelvin timeline to produce a mix of the two "A"s, adjusting the proportions of the Beyond design in the process. In a way it also qualifies as a TOS refit in its own right, as well as a Prime 1701-A or reboot alternate.

WRT the uniform, traditionally when using the sleeve stripes, Ensign was no stripe, and one broken stripe is a lieutenant, junior grade. That said, I think it might only have been seen one time in TOS, on the guy 'Joe' who stabs himself with the knife after being infected with the virus in... lemme think... "The Naked Time?" Not sure of the episode name, but the one where Sulu ends up running around shirtless with the fencing foil.

Well if one allows for the non-coms to exist, it would be weird to have Ensigns have no rank insignia.

Here's another version, merging this one and my refit version. I changed the front of the engineering section to match the refit, used my TOS version shuttlebay for good measure (which shortens the engineering section a bit), and adjusted the saucer's top profile so it's less shallow and bulky now, and fits better with the actual model. I also made a small adjustment to the impulse deck, visible on the aft view.

I think the slanted deflector section works better with the neck and pylons here.

You could get a three tube set-up by having the torpedo bay step down a bit--better saucer clearance...

Bit of an update to the above, today. I redrew the bottom of the saucer section and the impulse deck, and made a number of adjustments and additions.

And as a bonus, assuming that this design were a refit, a look at what it looked like before the refit.
