Yeah, it seems to be a remake of the original, so the question is what will happen to the other X-Com game. I can see it being cancelled, since there wasn't a lot of positive buzz for it.

I'd still be interested in the other game (just called "XCOM"). There's room in this world for multiple games based on the property.

But we did have UFO: Aftermath and its sequels which are basically RTS-ish remakes of X-Com. I remember wanting to enjoy those but I had a really hard time on account of a clunky interface, muddled graphics, and technical issues (weird graphical glitches, crashes, buggy AI, etc.)

Yes, 2K Marin is developing a previously announced first-person shooter, simply called XCOM. That game was originally scheduled to come out last year, but has since been delayed out of 2011.

Looks like its worse than that. It was delayed until March this year, as that article says, and now its been delayed again until 2013.
