News Showtime orders Dexter limited series

Loved the first 4 seasons to an obsessive extent. 5 seemed bad at the time, but looking back, it wasn't SO terrible, just bad compared to what came before. 6 was a joke. 7 was up and down. 8 was an abomination.

Clyde Phillips (original showrunner of seasons 1-4) returning is a MASSIVELY positive sign - hopefully, they can give the show the real ending it deserved.

I remember watching season 4 with my girlfriend at the time, and we were pretty slack jawed at the season finale. I thought it was pretty darned near perfect, and didn't need to go any further. I held that conviction for a number of years, until in a fit of boredom a few years ago, I watched the remaining seasons. I regretted that decision immediately.
Part of me feels they should leave well enough alone, but I can't pass up a chance to see if they can finally stick the landing.

I am cautiously optimistic, after hearing of Cylde Phillip's involvement. I loved the first four seasons, which were superior to the last years in so many ways.

S8 in particular was a car-crash. :scream:

Is anyone watching this? It's better than season 8, how could it not be? But there's still an insane level of stupidity among all the characters to move the plots forward, namely this show has no idea how to write for law enforcement.

I am. Like it so far. Any issues that you mentioned aside. I'm actually interested in seeing where it goes.

Yeah, it's still pretty dumb (Angela just happening to run into Angel lol) but in a much more entertaining way than the last few seasons. The boy playing Harrison is doing a good job.

Kurt really isn't very subtle with how he picks up the girls he later murders. You'd think somebody would have noticed he's always the last person to speak to them (and indeed gives many of them jobs.)

Exactly. He's obvious and Dexter is onto him and his game.

I want to see this just because Michael C Hall said he took the script because he was unhappy with the ending. But don’t want to pay more for it.

Well after a slow build for the series, episode 9 was pretty great.

Dexter killing the clown was a fun bit, with original style Dexter soundtrack playing. :D

Then Dexter teaching Harrison about Harry's code was a brilliant moment where he came full circle. :)

The circle seems to be closing around Dexter too, as his cop girlfriend Angela keeps digging and digging.

I'm really looking forward to next week's conclusion. It's just a shame we had rather a lot of Harrison's teenage angst rather than getting to the good stuff sooner.

I feel Harrison is going to off his dad. While he has violent tendencies, he's not quite the sociopath Dexter is.

Yea it's been insane.

Dexter is in trouble...

His girlfriend is onto him
The podcaster is too
Karl burned his house down
Sent proof to his girlfriend that Dexter murdered his son
