Seven Of Nine/Jeri Ryan Appreciation Thread v2

Ted, I think Tricia would wear the haggard look better than Ryan. She appears so much younger and healthy looking.

In a lot of recent pictures and panels, in particularly the one which Garrett talked about wanting to get her and Mulgrew back together and ended up bailing in the process- so sad:confused:. Ryan looked really unhealthy. She looked like she hadnt eaten for days. Her cheekbones was shocking thin :mallory:.
She constantly boost about her Chef husband and how he is such a brilliant cook. So where has all the great food he is cooking gone? Certainly not in her stomach:eek:

The wrinkles in those pictures are so obvious ..

There has also been such a fasination with the size of her boobs. What Boobs? I know when she was in the catsuit it was padded to give the impression they where a lot bigger than they actually where.Am i missing something here ?:wtf:

I don't think she looks much older than Tricia at all, I even they look oddly similar like first or second cousins actually.

Is it true that Kate Mulgrew made Jeri's life very hard on Voyager? I recently read something about this and had never known anything about it despite hearing that life on The Voyager set wasn't as cool as it was on TNG where the actors have remained close friends!

She did, but dont always believe the hype from Ryan with her" Im a victim who can do no wrong" spill:rolleyes:. I truly believe she was as much as a contributer to the friction than what meets the eye.

She dated Braga to get the best lines and often hinted at wanting to take over the show:rolleyes:. She remarked when Endgame rapped that SHE should of been made Admiral . She also said in a panel thing that She was a A list bought into a B list show- or something along those lines:rolleyes:.

She appears to be extremely arrogant , self centred and extremely insecure- more so since she got married to the Chef guy and had a child with him. She spoke last year about Mulgrew in such a nasty derrogatory term. She referred to Mulgrew as " That Person" & " It". Yes Mulgrew treated her appaulingly and no doubt a lot worse than she cared to divulge. I get that. I have heard some of Mulgrew's reference to her in many conventions over several years and they are extremely hurtful - very dismissive a massive stab in the heart. It was as though Mulgrew was trying so hard to push her away ( and she successfully achieved that) all peoples suspicions between what the true nature of the relationship. I dont dispute that , but at the same time Mulgrew worked her butt off and continued to suck it up whilst the attention that was shifted to Ryan that spand over 5 years . She hang in there so the cast could continue to enjoy the benefits of the Star Trek empire with constant appearance on conventions. It must have been tragic and it didnt help to have Ryan rub it in her face everyday

Mulgrews commitment to the show gave Ryan permission So now she can made outlandish demands- appearing at conventions as a solo artist and demanding more money for her appearances than Mulgrew .Without Mulgrew's Captain their would be no Voyager .

Mulgrew bust her nut to give us the best Captain- and more. I think she deserved a tremedous gratitude for that . I am not saying that i condone what Mulgrew has done and its pains to think a woman like that whose whole ethos of Captain Janeway was humanity and to appease to humanity and love ,can be so callous and so distractive - not only to herself but to another woman :(. I certainly think that Ryan's more conniving and instead of being respectful . Rather than give the impression she was bigger than the show or saved the show. It would have been nice for her to have said she was merely giving the Captain the Spock she needed and together they all created a ironic show.

There is a lot more than meets the eye that went on between them and only they - and of course the cast members are privvy to that information. Competition and jealousy was only a verysmidgen of what lies behind over 17 years of feud.

I do not see the feud ever coming to an end. I just grateful that their is no spats on Twitter :guffaw:.. Seriously, in a sense im kinda glad they will not be working or even appearing in conventions together. It has gone too far to come back from something so distractive , so devasting as their relationship

As for remaing close friends. The Boys has deserves a big thumbs up - they constantly have boys nights out/dinners

I have no doubt that Jeri was insecure and had a towering ego herself (the entertainment industry wouldn't exist) but can you back up your rambling claims, Janeway7truly, even if she's become more candid about having a hard time on set in the last couple of years?

Very Petty for sure!!!!

I think you forgot an 'R' somewhere in that second word. ;)

Teddieboy!:p.You have not been specific in what claims you are referring to , but Some of the sources - as mentioned - can be found on one of the panel show she attended think with Garrett ( when she says she is an A list in a B show).

Where she mentioned wanting to be an admiral was in one of the Star Trek publications. Im sure it can be found still around, but recall vividly . I remember thinking at the time" You jammie boger:wtf:" when i read it . It was back in 2000 round about the time Endgame had just aired.

What she said about Mulgrew can be found in her "Backstabbing full exposure" back in 2014 " Intentially - something or another. . I hope that helps;)

No Mr LaserBeam , Petty is what he means lol ;-)

Thanks for that Janeway! I never knew things were so bad between them. I had read something that Chakotay had said once about a bad atmosphere on the set and the like...

Your Welcome:). As much as it pains me to say this , but At least the Boys managed to maintain a great relationship spanding over 17 years . They often get together for a boys night out, so it isnt all bad within the Voyager family:techman:

As for the girls. Roxanne Dawson - seems to be the more mature one . She has often expressed tremedous gratitude and respect to Mulgrew,Although they do get together as much ( if at all ) as the boys

I get the impression that Jeri appears to get on very well with Wang and Picardo, and I hope the "A-lister in a B-list show" comment was just said in jest and taken out of context (very talented as she is, really - quite the opposite - she was essentially a C-lister made a B-lister by a fairly successful long running sci-fi show).

Hiya:techman:. If you watch the panel appearance with Garrett, you will see that Ryan did NOT mean that comment in jest. Her humour is way too bland to whip out something like that. Besides a comment like that - in particulaly in reference being added to show , is not one would consider as humourous:p. Her comment- together with her solo appearances and demands ie; more money than Mulgrew is a testiment to that

I totally agree , she was definitely a C lister and has been made a success as a result- not only for show but the fact that Mulgrew stuck around whilst the sun shined out of Ryan's behind throughout the remaining seasons.

I recall when i was in Hollywood back in 2000 and everything was about Ryan. The Star Trek Museum had 7 of 9 everything. Even a pigging food menu for christsakes:wtf:. I recall being so upset because - for me , the Captain was the one that all the attention , the adulation , the total admiration and respect :klingon:..
Frankly, i think you cannot have one without the other :wtf:

Dont get me wrong, I think Ryan's addition to Voyager was a brilliant idea . The Captain needed a Spock and she fitted the bill perfectly. I feel she had spoiled it with her petty arrogance

As for Mulgrew, I cannot stand her on a personal level , but i sure as hell cannot fault her talent -which Ryan could NEVER meet in a thousand years. No matter how many directors/ writers she is ..erm... well .. friendly with ;). They both are parallels WAY apart .

Ryan's self assured , arrogance is born out of media adulation and people pondering to her ego, rather than hard earnest get down and dirty , work you bout off . Craft.

I hope both Mulgrew&Ryan will not appear together at the reunion. I just think the constant fight for attention would mess up what should be a spectacular for the people who will spend their hardearned dollars to attend the event . I think their PR people will be smart enough not to do that

I think that Ryan could play an admiral in a Star Trek movie (say, Pike's successor that sends Kirk out on missions); she could even be called Admiral Hansen! ;)

She could also play Captain/Admiral Pike in a Rule 63 version of the two recent movies, as this artwork shows:

Maybe as a teenage boy, you could give her some pointers so that she can continue to wet your whistle. No point being an her kinda Admiral if she doesnt continue to cater the dynamic right? :techman:

Im old school.I believe is share, utter talent . Get down and dirty talent. The admirals of my day are ones that where built with high end principles, moral statue and an obundance of strength-that only Mulgrew can master. But hey- each to their own right?;)

This thread is a bit dead isn't it? Here's more Leverage related images:

My, isn't Jeri and the ensemble cast she temporarily joined with photogenic?

I thought Jeri Ryan was fantastic as Seven of Nine, a superb character, a very fine actress, she brought a fresh dynamic to the crew and had great potential for new types of stories and exploration which led them to lots of interesting episodes. Her casting was an excellent boost to Voyager and I felt she added a lot to the cast.

And Jeri Ryan is going to guest star in Amazon Prime's Bosch, playing a former sex worker who is a jaded but spoilt wife trapped in a joyless marriage with a porn tycoon. Link
