I mean lots of things could have influenced that request, not that being married was a no go.
A parallel universe variant that time traveled into the future from the present-past days of future days gone by explains it all.The Season 3 character poster showers her in a haircut she didn't have in Season 2
Better late than never.Everyone has it all wrong, the episode will feature Robert April finally getting married to his longtime girlfriend Sarah
If so it may be best to just view everything after 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow' as an alternate timeline from TOS (considering that in the original TOS timeline La'an never time-traveled to 2022 to meet young Khan as the Eugenics Wars took place in the 1990s) because this is bending continuity to the extreme (if not outright breaking it) in regards to Chapel and Spock in TOS.It's gonna be Chapel/Spock.![]()
Pretty sure it's going to be a flashback to happier times. Those two are doomed. If so it may be best to just view everything after 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow' as an alternate timeline from TOS (considering that in the original TOS timeline La'an never time-traveled to 2022 to meet young Khan as the Eugenics Wars took place in the 1990s) because this is bending continuity to the extreme (if not outright breaking it) in regards to Chapel and Spock in TOS.

I see it as possible that circumstances changed.?????
So Carol is OK with possibly marrying him, but doesn't want him in their lives...
That's more than a bit of a stretch to justify something like that.
Heh ... Yeah, he got her pregnant and then it seems, left to do a duty tour on the USS Farragut, almost getting himself killed in the process by the dikironium cloud creature.I see it as possible that circumstances changed.
At 23 seconds, Spock and Chapel are in bed together and she is wearing a wedding ring.
But it still begs the question of why Batel isn't around in "The Menagerie".
I'm still afraid that Batel's Gorn infection is going to kill her. For precisely that reason.
Maybe they were planning on getting married and an emergency popped up causing Kirk to miss his wedding and thus carol called it offI don't think it'll be Kirk and Carol. The way they acted towards each other in ST III would seem to make that impossible.
They may have floated about the idea, but I think they both knew deep down that their lives were just too different and getting married would just make them both miserable.
If they're keeping to the lore, the attack on the Farragut has already happened.Heh ... Yeah, he got her pregnant and then it seems, left to do a duty tour on the USS Farragut, almost getting himself killed in the process by the dikironium cloud creature.
Probably pissed her off to no end.
Yeah, ummm ... Jim & Carol would apparently have happened either while he was at the Academy or just after him graduating in the TOS timeline. If they're keeping to the lore, the attack on the Farragut has already happened.

Gary Mitchell is supposedly been the one to have introduced them to each other.
(and we haven't even seen him in SNW yet)
We may have to adjust the year of that event, Kirk has only been shown as the Captain of the USS Farragut in the alternate timeline so far and he's still a Lt. as of Season 2.
Though I'm not an expert on how it all fits together as far as the years go.
Heh ... I have trouble at this point remember my age, never mind all the Earth Year dates in Trek.![]()
