Season 3 Finale as the Show Finale?

Odo

I was thinking about the season three finale, and I wonder if it works as a finale for the whole first three seasons of the show, and that we could just stop right there.

I started season four, and it’s OK, but I was wondering if some people feel as though we could just stop at the season, three finale, or if they really like how the show ended in season five.

To be clear, I have my criticisms of the season, three finale, but there’s a bit I like

Agreed 100%. The show should have ended at the end of season 3, and it should have been left to the audiences' imaginations as to what happened after that. The rest of the seasons were just redundant nonsense.

As far as I'm concerned, it started out so-so, hit bottom with the gratuitous "scoop" of eye-scream in "The Red Angel" (even if Leland had it coming), then got better and better once the show arrived in the 32nd Century, with Season 5 the best yet.

Have you two somehow been exchanged for doppelgangers from the alternate universe in which "Requiem for a Martian" wasn't a hoax?
Hoax, you say? I won't fall for any of that conspiracy theory nonsense.

I was an early contributor to that Uncyclopedia article.

I also wrote a short-short DTI fanfic in which multiple doppelgangers of Dulmur, Lucsly, and Roberta Lincoln work to stop the script from getting submitted. Structurally, it jumps from one reality to another (with slight name changes escalating into gender changes) with every paragraph, leaning heavily on Robert Coover's renowned short story, "The Babysitter" (which, like Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery," should be required reading for everybody).

How did you feel when you got to the end of Season 3 before watching Season 4? Did you watch it before knowing there would be a Season 4? Did you want more at the time? I'm only asking because I think that idea of wondering what could come next or "what if" is a bit harder to overcome than having it come to fruition and then wishing it hadn't happened. Once someone announces something I'd rather they just make it and get it over with rather than development hell. At least it's something tangible to enjoy or dislike rather than just a concept.
