Season 3 bluray question

Elemental

Rear Admiral
I just got my season 3 bluray set. Does anyone know if there was a cardboard slipcase with the original release as with past seasons? I can't find any record of one which surprises me. They seem to be cheapening out on these sets.

Season three was a made-on-demand release, so no extra love.
I'm just glad it was released at all. I'll take MOD releases over no releases every time. :)

I got up to look at my LD sets to see about this question and discovered I had not ordered S3 yet! :brickwall:

I found both BD and DVD on sale on Amazon so I ordered a BD for me and a DVD for a big fan family member. :D

Thanks for asking this question! :techman: I don't feel so bad about the cheap package since I got them on sale.

I was wondering why I saw some on ebay a couple weeks ago and now nada. Nothing on Best Buy or Target, etc sites.

So where can I order this?

Also, both my S1 and S2 blu rays have slipcases. This MOD shit is pretty stupid. I understood it for the old series When Things Were Rotten, since it was pretty obscure, but LD is new and reasonably popular.

I'm going to assume sales of LDS Season 2 on Blu-ray weren't that high. The only reason they'd do this is to save money.
I have no doubt it's a money saving thing, whether S2 sales enter into it or not.

Or else it's about trying to keep more long-term subscribers on P+, though money is money.

Similar thing happened with Jordan Peele Twilight Zone. After a BD Season 1, a hard to find burned on demand Season 2. DVDs widely available though.

Only DVD sets on ebay right now, but S1-S3 sets are on blue ray from international sellers.

Paramount really is pissing me off with this shit.

It's currently available on Amazon.

Even though S3 is MOD, at least it's still a pressed disc. I think calling it "MOD" just means pressed in limited batches as demand requires.
MOD does tend to be a fairly vague term, yeah. @cal888 's Bull Moose site is one of the few referring to it that way.

Yeah the MOD burned vs pressed issue is a major concern for Blu-ray collectors (I recently imported a region locked A24 film from the UK to avoid a burned disc in the US). If there are shortages of LD season 3, that's a great sign that demand exceeded initial expectations, and bodes well for a season 4 release.
