Saving Hope starring Michael Shanks

Loved seeing Michael; can't get enough of him. I'm not sure how they can sustain this premise, though. It seems to be a bit limited; I'll watch a few more to see how it goes.

But they really need to tone it down with the lens flare. Geez.

This thread should be in TV & Media or Scifi & Fantasy.

I saw it. I tuned in mainly for Shanks and Erica Durance, but I enjoyed it as well.

Hope they'll get rid of those damn lens flares. I actually looked it up on IMDB to see whether JJ Abrams was involved.

But aside from that it's an entertaining show and I definitely want to check out a few more episodes.

As to how long the premise can last, the writers can keep it going by Erica Durance keeping Michael alive indefinitely, but how long that can stay believable is beyond me.

I liked the cast in the first episode and it's a medical show not named Grey's Anatomy I can watch with my girlfriend.

Unless the premise changes over time it won't be able to keep this up for more than a year, but it could still be a season that's worth watching.

I want to see if he can take his clothes off.

If they come off, can he put them back on again or will they vanish?

But this really would be in the Smallville forum.

Finally got around to watching the pilot last night and it wasn't too bad. I haven't really watched a medical procedural since the early seasons of E.R. but I'll keep watching this one. Unfortunately I forgot to record episode 2, but I have my DVR now set to record them all.

I just googled it. I don't think it would last long even if the writing is good.

Not too bad when it focuses on the patients' stories. The lead actress is personable enough. The ghost stories are mostly dreary but for me Shanks built up enough good will to put up with the rest of it. Still I must say the ghost that just kept screaming was rather funny, as was the guy who kept talking about how he was going to kill the guy who knifed him. There's no sign that the ghosts will build up into a watchable "arc." Personally, I think they could end the season with Shanks' character dying of pneumonia or whatever. Saving Hope is really a medical drama, not a supernatural show. So far, at any rate.

Honestly, it would be best if Charlie woke up and it took a kind of Ghost Whisperer angle. I love the actors, but its kind of thin in the plot.

^True. While I love Shanks, I don't think think it's terribly interesting to have Charlie be completely inactive for very long. They need to do more to keep the audience interested, or this show will not last long at all.

Canadian shows have smaller seasons. Wikipedia says this bugger is 13 episodes long.

Fuck me it's Checkmate!

It's so sad not to hear him speaking in a broken Russian accent.
