The year is 2393.

Honoring the heritage of the past and celebrating the challenges of the future, Starbase 249 is being raised from the ashes, destined to be a purpose built Medical and Related Science’s Centre; code-named MARS Facility.

Once a thriving hub of activity in the middle of a federation trading sector, Starbase 249 stood as a proud icon in the Omega Piscium System just above the planet ORAXA playing host to a range of trading groups and sheriff all at the same time. However, because of disagreements with regional powerhouse trading groups Starfleet agreed to withdraw for a short period. As such, the station has since lain dormant, disused and isolated from Starfleet use for over 18 months.

This period has allowed Starfleet the opportunity to actively and collectively rethink the purpose of the base. Whilst one priority was to re-establish the trade routes through the base, Starfleet wanted a more humanitarian purpose that would signify its original routes of exploration and correct the mistakes of becoming to heavily involved with the trade aspects of the systems.

The outcome – the MARS Facility – a medical and related science’s research outpost.

The station was brought back to life by a group of specialist engineers, led by the able and capable leading engineer and then commanding officer, Commander Caleb Tascioni. This team laid the groundwork on the new internal design for the specialist centre as well as kick starting its re-launch in preparation for the new command staff to join.

The continued task for the station is to continue their research work in various fields, continue to upgrade the research centre, ensure that ships that dock with Starbase 249 are fully re-supplied and repaired, and build a good relationship with the peoples of this area. The station is capable of using the latest technology and has made the hanger bay doors able to fit the largest of starship designs through.

Current Mission: Forced Frontiers

While surveying some previously undiscovered ruins on a planet along their patrol route, the Vanguard's crew encounters a relic from the unknown culture that used to inhabit the ruins. Little do they know this relic will drastically change the lives of every person on the ship. Life as it has been, will never be the same.

Our Progress so Far:

The Vanguard has just entered orbit of the mysterious planet emanating odd energy signatures. Away teams have been formed and they are preparing to beam down to the Planet to search for the source of the energy signatures as well as any resources that could be used to conduct some repairs on the ship itself. The energy source was discovered to be a small crystal inside of some ruins on the planet, its origin and makeup unknown. Barhschmidt , the ships science officer, and the Captain are currently working in the science lab trying to figure the object out while the rest of the crew works on the survey of the mysterious planet. While submitting the crystal to low level neutrinos, the crystal activated and reacted to the presence of the nearby moon transporting the Vanguard to the Delta Quadrant, leaving many crew behind on the moon including several senior officers. The crew awakens to discover their new predicament and immediately begins to think of ways to get home when long range sensors detect a faint Federation transponder signal. Captain Romanov has decided to rally whats left of his senior crew and come up with solutions.

The USS Exeter, a Bravo Fleet SIm is wanting players.

The USS Exeter will begin as a dark courtroom drama.

I know what you're thinking! Now before you press that back button let me explain. Considering this sim will be 1: A Nu Trek sim and 2: The Exeter is pretty much a doomed ship, I know the cards are stacked heavily against me, and that's alright...I prefer it that way.

Because if you sign aboard the Exeter, we're going to be heavily defying conventions. Yes, we'll be going back to the core essence of Roddenberry Trek, but it's going to be modernized with flourishes that's going to make people take notice, and (hopefully) second guess..er, rethink Nu Trek.

Let me give you some examples:

1. We'll be encountering a Marie Celeste...but in space.

2. We're going to encounter the Q

3. Fancy a quick trip to Andromeda? Because we're going

4. We'll be encountering morally questionable Starfleet Captains and Admirals that will put Marcus to shame

5. We'll be making first contact missions and constructing a Nu Trek cannon we'll be proud of.


...and that's only the beginning.

But I'll need people who are interested, a capable crew that believes in exploring the Nu universe and have a sense of passion about it. Whose characters won't be afraid to defy convention, are skeptical of our missions, who want to explore and build something great and attempt to have a lasting impact on cannon building.

Lastly, people who want to make a difference.

Since the end of the Dominion War peace has returned to Federation space and Starfleet returned to a mission of exploration and discovery. However, the year is now 2393 and the balance of power is once again shifting and questions are arising if the Federation is prepared for the new players that are emerging since the destruction of Romulus. Once more forced to ensure that none of what so many fought for changes, Starfleet commissions the USS Ragnarök to be the shield that the Federation now needs.

Under the command of Horatio Riagáin in the Ninth Fleet, the USS Ragnarök serves under Starfleet’s newest initiative, the Sector Hazard Interdiction, Engagement, and Logistics Detachment aka S.H.I.E.L.D. The Ragnarök will respond to hazards in Federation space and along her borders, natural or by hostile forces, engage in exploration and diplomacy, and provide logistical and real time support in the face of humanitarian and other crises. Equipped with the latest technology, most up to date science and medical facilities as well as the 84th Carrier Starfighter Wing and SFMC 72nd Ranger Regiment's Echo Company there is nothing they can not accomplish.

That is but a brief taste of what is available aboard the Ragnarök, a sim that was created as a place to offer a fun and character driven environment for all players. Hello All,

I'm not posting an advert for my independent (cause fleets are full of arsehats with delusions of granduer) simm, Molon Labe, but rather looking for a home for a character I've been looking to develop. He's a PO3 FMF style corpsman so a ship with a Marine contingent, or active security details would be ideal. But any good ship with a decent CO, active players and NO SHS (which also includes storylines that don't pit the crew against the entire borg collective, the Q or where the CO is the personal assistant of an Elder God [go ahead laugh, did all those]).

Also, I'm giving priority to independent simms over that of fleet simms...because independence is the way simming should be.

Star Trek Kumari

The Milky Way Galaxy is an ever changing place. In the last twenty years alone, the United Federation of Planets has had to contend with an invasion from the Borg, wars with the Cardassian Union, Klingon Empire and the Dominion. And more recently, the loss of Romulus and Remus, has changed the political landscape throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. While the Federation has always done its best to keep the peace, they are struggling in doing so with the Romulan Star Empire being so vulnerable right now. It doesn't help that the Klingons are more than eager to push the boundaries of their friendship with Starfleet in order to try and expand their territory.

In such dire times, it falls upon each and every member of Starfleet to help preserve the fragile peace. Not all of its forces lay out in the open though. There are always matters that require a more delicate touch. One of finesse. Since the end of the Dominion War, Starfleet Intelligence has been pouring many of its resources into rebuilding and recruitment. With both the Tal Shiar and the Obsidian Order just shades of their former selves, it became imperative for the intelligence branch of Starfleet to stand out and be the elite information gatherers that the quadrant needed.

As one might expect with the work that needed to be done under this new mandate, Starfleet Intelligence put more operatives and starships into service. One such vessel was the retrofitted Saber-class starship, U.S.S. Kumari. Although to some the Kumari might be considered a 'small ship', its upgraded rapid fire phaser cannons, quantum torpedo launchers and ablative hull armour demonstrate that it shouldn't be overlooked and that it can be a force to be reckoned with. Under the command of Commander Jack Colburn, the Kumari and its crew, operate in the shadows, doing what needs to be done for the safety and security of every man, woman and child.

Task Force 93 has served as a peacekeeping force along the Romulan border for the last half decade. Following the Hobus hypernova of April 2387, it temporarily operated within Romulan space to provide support. In September 2387, the Treaty of Nelvana resealed the Romulan borders introduced the new Raeyan Transit Corridor, a sliver of Federation space between the Romulan and Klingon Empires.

Task Force 93 became responsible for maintaining this new corridor, as well as for conducting operations in the Raeyan Sector beyond. In early 2388, Task Force 93 went on to absorb Task Force 47 as part of a Fleet reorganization, expanding above the Romulan border to include the Gavarian Corridor, and, after the Gorn invasion of the Canterra sector in mid-2388, its area of operations was again expanded, this time to include all Federation territory along the Klingon and Gorn borders.
