Question about Claire and Jack

At the cliffhanger of a few episodes back, Dogen says "because it happened to your sister". Next episode, Jack seems to know he was talking about Claire already.... so, did he find out Claire was his sister on the show already or is this just implied to have been explained to him off screen? I can't remember him ever finding that out.

Claire's mother told Jack at his father's funeral in a season four flash forward.
