You know, I really don't care if people smoke pot. They can do whatever they want to do. I've known plenty of pot-smokers, and they're all wonderful people.

But good lord, I cannot stand to be around people while they're doing it. My downstairs neighbors smoke so much pot all the time. The smell gives me such a headache. I was honestly light-headed the first 2 weeks I lived in this apartment, and I couldn't figure out why. Now I know.

I don't really know what to do about it. I don't want to get them in trouble or anything because, aside from the pot, they are perfectly good neighbors.

Call and have them arrested. It's the right thing to do.

Smoke is smoke. It's completely unfair to be imposed on in that way, even more so when the smoke is psychotropic.
They need to either religiously use a window, or get a vaporizer - the $80 models are very effective.

Go downstairs and talk to them but bring a bounty roll for them. A bounty roll is the cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels. Stuff bounty tissues into the roll. Bounty are the dryer sheets that you throw into the dryer to get your stuff smelling nice. Then when the guy/girl takes a hit, he/she can blow it into the bounty roll. The resulting fumes will not smell like pot, it will smell dryer fresh.

Just tell them it is a suggestion to mitigate the smell throughout the entire apartments. Any stoner worth his weight in gold will be very paranoid about stinking up the entire place. (at least I know I am)

Next time you smell it, play recorded sirens with the stereo turned to 11. It won't help your headache, but it may be interesting to see what all comes flying out the windows downstairs.

Talk to the neighbors first, then the apartment managers if they do not change their ways. Call the police if neither method is effective. You have a right to a pot-free living environment. I don't have a desire to see people fined or jailed, but they are the party in the wrong in this situation.

I'd take pot smoking neighbors over cigarette smoking ones any damn day of the week. The latter is what I have to contend with--they apparently chain smoke on weekends without opening their windows since it's cool out now so MY apartment smells like cigarette smoke which literally has made me sick.

Perhaps prevent children from inhaling drugs? Perhaps prevent other adults from inhaling drugs who may not be drug users themselves. And it would be the responsible, adult thing to do.
