Where do you get your Costumes?

So I want to get a costume. Where do you easily get a Star Trek costume for conventions or Halloween. I looked online and I could only find private sellers that make custom costumes, they’re very expensive. Should I just make one myself. I don’t know. I really want a Q costume, I’m not sure it would take a long time to make.

Q would likely be a custom job.

There are relatively inexpensive uniform pieces out there.

A few years ago I made an IDW comics-verse Mirror Universe costume out of a Picard Season 1 uniform I got on ebay for like, $20. By no means like professional but it did the trick. The whole costume probably cost me like, $40-50 between the shirt, cheap phaser, the little sash thing, the insignia pin, etc.

Q wears different stuff all the time. Get a Sombrero and go for his Mexican look.

First of all, yes, I understand that I am too late to help you, but if you didn't pull it off maybe next year and also what if someone else wants a Q costume, so I'm gonna reply to this despite the lateness. Second of all, I'm going to operate under the assumption that the Q costume you want is the Encounter at Farpoint judge thing. Third of all, it's probably possible to find it somewhere, but finding a premade one would probably be expensive. Probably your best bet would be to get clothings that could work for various parts of the costume and then put them together and whatever's missing you custom make.
