Poor Jeri Ryan

I'm pretty sure her relationship with Braga didn't start until she'd been on the show for a while. She was still married to Jack Ryan at the time.

It's not professional to whine about your co-workers to your BF - or, for that matter, to anybody else - wherever it is that you work in any industry at all. Everybody just has to find a way to work together, and apparently on VOY they did. You don't have to be friends with your co-workers in order to do good work with them - and doing good work is in fact more important than being friends. The work is what you're there for - and that, too, is the same in any industry anywhere.

I guess I can kind of understand the interest with "What did she say? And what did the other one say?" but I just don't share it, and I really do not get the fascination, if that's an accurate adjective to use. It seems...well, kind of soap opera-ish to me. And we aren't going to get an accurate picture after all this time anyway. Everybody's moved on.

Agreed. I don't really care whether in real life Mulgrew and Ryan were best friends or sworn enemies. The point is they did their jobs brilliantly, both when they were working together and separately, bringing Seven and Janeway to life and giving us Voyager which we love. And about which I shouldn't be waffling about now - real life calls...

Well, Jeri did a con recently, and to all the folks who used to say, "of course, she's beautiful now, but wait till she's 40"--well this is for you!

Sorry?

Is the argument, sorry, hypothesis, that Jeri at 40 is as, but certainly more, attractive than mulgrew years earlier when she was 40?

Peter O'Toole during the making of "The making of Supergirl" said of the female lead Helen Slater something like this "Now, Helen as an actress, even as an actor, brings something truely special and almost unique to the camera: She's 17."

Of course since it's 15 years since I first heard that quote, I can assure you that it's at the very least 15 times funnier since I have some very grave concerns aabout if 17 year olds in general should be let out of the house at all without protective helmets by in large.

Helen had a reocurring role as Supergirl's Mommy in Smallville last season and there was still not an inch of her that wasn't spectacular.

Who said Jeri wouldn't make a decent cougar?

^ I first heard it maybe a couple of years ago. And I'm well sick of the term now.

I find it even more annoying than "milf".

^I kind of forwarded ahead to when he talked about Berman being on the Set and the set comes on fire, and man Wang is angry. Almost wish I was a fly on the wall on some of these meetings.

I've always been one to say that while there were many faults in the later years of the Franchise, Berman did good work and I loved TNG. Also, he did executive produce DS9 too. Hearing this stuff I don't know what to believe now.

Well..I'll give Beltran his props. Its one thing to take pot shots all these years later...Beltran had the balls to call it as he saw it back then..and he was right...

There was an excellent episode of How I met your mother where Barney"Dougie"niel Patrick "Spider-Man" Harris"Houser"Stinsen talked in great depth about the legend of cougar as he prepared to tap Jane "Doctor Quinn "Boxy's Mom from battle Star" medicine woman" Seymore.

The writers of JPod seemed to be obsessed with the word.

but when Kitty "Calista "Ally Mcbeal" flockheart" Walker used the word in reference to herself and her sister on just another horrid episode of Brothers and sisters as they were crashing a highschool kegger, I decided to retire the nonirronic use of the word.

Is Jeri suffering from Mirror Mirror Syndrome?

American pie came out last century.

Milf

Fuck that.

There's a membrane called a millennium celebration between us and the cool application of that word.

This is not uncommon in Show Biz guys. Veterans who think they've earned their place in the sun getting shown up by younger turks, and having a huge grudge for it, is very common place. Voyager was supposed to be Mulgrews time to shine. That was taken from her by Generic Big Tittied Blond #4703. They are actors after all. Actors are the most needy, egotistical, vain, childish, pompous, pretentcious, elitist, stupid, whack jobs alive. It's why half of them either develop drug habits and the other half leave nothing but a string of broken marriages in their wake. Everything about them is a fake or a lie. Being able to con people into buying your bullshit is what they all do, 24/7.

Wang's probably telling what he thinks is the truth. He's really got nothing to lose at this point. Ryan and Mulgrew were probably lying their asses off when they said it was such a joy to work with each other, when they could barely stop from throwing up while they said it. Ryan seems to be a trooper though. She made an awful character more watchable then she had any right to be and always takes the high road when it comes to these things. I never much cared for Mulgrew honestly. People can debate how inconsitently written Janeway was til the end of time. At the end of the day, I thought Mulgrew had the charimsa and nuace of roadkill. Ryan could at least make me care somewhat about her character, even without the catsuit.

Ryan wouldn't talk shit about anyone honestly though, because that's not what you're supposed to do in the industry. Everyone knows everyone, and if you want to keep steady work you keep your real feelings to yourself. Because otherwise you'll develop a bad rep or some producer might be friends with some actor you didn't get along with and they won't hire you. Because finding steady work in that field is near impossible.

Just curious -- what circumstances surrounded Lien's departure from the show? Someone mentioned that she was rudely dismissed? Did they have the Seven character in the works before they let her go?

I heard her ex-husband tried to make her have sex with him in public. Talk about freaky.

He tried to take her to sex clubs. Which is why she divorced his ass. Jack Ryan was one of these Family Values, Uber-Christiany types by day and Charlie Sheenesque coke-fiend, sex-addict by night. So when it all came to light he resigned his US Senate seat. Ironically enough, it was none other then Barack Obama that was the next one to take that seat.
