NBA 2023-2024

Weeks after winning the NBA title, the Boston Celtics are up for sale. The owners plan to have the deal completed by late 2024/early 2025.

Next season, the sports broadcasters are going to spend all their time talking about a bench warmer second round draft pick who'd be in the G league if it weren't for his Dad instead of the teams that are playing well, aren't they? *groan*

My two favorite teams are the Kings (or Kangz) and Spurs. Hard for me to envision either getting home court advantage for the playoffs, but I think they will vie for a play-in spot. My money's on the Spurs simply for defensive reasons. Kings will score, but not defend, as usual...

It seems like it's a forgone conclusion that Seattle and Las Vegas are getting expansion teams. Might not happen the same year since Vegas still isn't ready.

Wemby's on the way up though, Spurs will be competitive very soon.

I just want to know, if that happens, how the conferences will be realigned. 17 Western teams vs 15 Eastern teams. Geographically it seems either the Grizzlies or the Pelicans will move to the Eastern conference. But do either want to or will both fight against it?

Has to be Memphis or New Orleans. The third option is Minnesota since even though it's pretty far west by comparison, the closest teams to Minnesota all play in the east. It would be more practical and cut down on their travel.

Warner loses broadcast rights to Amazon for 11 years. NBA on TNT ends after next season. ESPN/ABC will maintain their primary coverage package, NBC gets the NBA back (cue the John Tesh theme!).

Amazon's deal includes the rights to six conference finals, the NBA Cup in-season tournament, play-in games and Thursday games during the regular season at the conclusion of their Thursday night NFL coverage.

Didn't want to start a new thread - Denver Nuggets fire their Head Coach and General Manager with five games left in the season and a number four spot in the playoffs.
He was their Head Coach for ten years and the Coach with the most wins in Nuggets history.

I saw that. Weren't they in strong playoff contention. They had won it a few years ago. Seems strange to fire a winning coach and GM.
