NBA 2023-2024

Season starts on Tuesday. I'm not really an NBA fan, but I did watch a bit of the playoffs last June. Hope the Warriors do well.

Heard a piece this morning on Victor Wembanyama at San Antonio. Loves the town, town loves him.
Best prospect since LaBron.
High hopes for the Spurs getting back in the Playoffs and Beyond.
Guess time will tell...

Does anyone outside Adam Silver actually care about the in season tournament? It seems like it’s just giving better teams slightly harder schedules. And nobody is going to try hard in the final. They’ll defend 20% harder than in the all star game.

Bucks/Celtics will be a great conference final. Better top 2 vs better top 4. Really depends how new combinations gel in the long term, but now I’d classify that a coin flip.

Yeah somebody needs to tell the NBA marketing team that nobody cares about the in season tournament.

Whichever teams get to the final they should play their two way players. Let the players who actually need half a million play for it.

How does the tournament affect the season? Are we now going to have teams that play more games than others during the regular season?

The Courts for the In Season Tournament looked really odd.

I think all the games count in the regular standings except those who play in the final. I'm not entirely sure though, but this is an interesting idea.

No, the teams that don’t make the elimination rounds play consolation games instead except for the final.

Facebook won’t stop trying to convince me the in season tournament is interesting.

It is not. They are regular season games played on ugly floors.

But Adam Silver will never admit he made a mistake.

At least Celts are 14-4.

New Bulls are the same as the old Bulls. 11-17, might be close to the 10th spot at the end, might not be.

The Pistons are everybody's beeyotch right now. 2-25 with a 24 game losing streak. The longest is 26 games, so they might be headed for history. Epic stinkage.

I saw that the Pistons had a 26 game losing streak. They must be historically bad because that is really hard to do. At least the Tigers are looking up.

And to think, they were above .500 at one point

It seems more than just tanking bad, it's more like a AAA team playing in the majors bad.

Bulls had a 3 game winning streak, but lost again. They're just in that #10 (or 8?) spot like they have been in past years, but who knows where they'll end up.

ETA: 28 straight losses now for Detroit. Scored 122 vs the Cetics, but gave up 128. "Defense??? We don't need no stinkin' defense!!!"

When the Bulls did their mass Ring of Honor induction, the fans booed the late Jerry Krause, upsetting his widow.
