Moonlight vs. Blood Ties

Any Moonlight or Blood Ties fans here. Personally I like Blood Ties better of the two. I was really disappointed when I heard the series was canceled but at least they are putting out Blood Ties Season 2 on DVD. I just ordered it on Amazon. Hopefully it gets here soon!

Which series did you guys like better out of the two?

Blood Ties doesn't really inspire me. I know it isn't a Twilight clone, but it just has that same vibe, and there really doesn't appear to be anything going on that Kindred the Embraced didn't cover 15 years ago.

Moonlight, even though it was so clearly a copy of Forever Knight and Angel as to not even be funny, had an interesting feel to it, as well as Sophia Myles, so given the choice I'd take that show.

I just found out about Blood Ties. I was looking at box sets in Best Buy and saw the S2 set and looked it up later at home.

Did Lifetime do nothing to promote this show?
How in the era of True Blood, Twilight and Vampire Dairies does Blood Ties get cancelled? Granted I've not seen it but Dairies is still on and it can't be worse.
CBS' Moonlight was only cancelled due to corporate bickering and not cause its ratings were that horrid. That show should still be on.

I've put Blood Ties into my Netflix queue.

I got the complete Blood Ties DVD set for £5.99.

At that price it is well worth it, it's a pretty interesting show, and Christina Cox is really something to behold. It's fairly low budget though, and relies more on decent plotting and characters than flashy effects. Sometimes however, the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired, there are several painful moments.

I've never seen Blood Ties, and I totally agree with 23skiddoo that Moonlight was an Angel copy, but I definitely liked Moonlight. The leads were well cast and charismatic, and the stories were entertaining. It's too bad that it got cancelled.

Neither. Kindred the Embraced and Forever Knight were both better, though I think they might have been shorter than these two-which didn't last very long themselves!

Perhaps now the precious question is The Vampire Diaries or Twilight?
