I'm not a huge metal fan, but Judas Priest's British Steel is definitely my favourite.

That is a fucking awesome album. I've seen Queensryche perform the whole thing live, and it blew my head off. Got the Livecrime DVD too.
Not so keen on Operation: Mindcrime II, though.

Me neither. they tried LOL, but the first one was a masterpiece. Geoff tate just can't get the power he used to have in his voice.

I do like Master of Puppets. It's a great album, especially for Metallica. But I find myself listening to Megadeth much more often than I ever do Metallica...which is funny cause Metallica was my first love, oh well I guess not every relationship lasts forever
Incidentally, my favorite Megadeth Album is probably Youthanasia, just to get that out there. Tout Le Monde is one of the best Megadeth songs ever and puts most of Metallica's ballads to shame.

Joey Belladonna sounds like a cat that is being garrotted. Although having said that, Persistance of Time is a good album.

It might not qualify because there is an abundance of ballad's on it, some featuring only a piano with vocals, but Streets: a Rock Opera by Savatage is absolutely amazing!

^ It's not. It has no name. Metallica is the name of the artist, not the album. I remember very clearly at the time them saying so in interviews. It's like the fourth Led Zeppelin album, which is often erroneously called Led Zeppelin IV or the 4 Symbols. Again, it has no name.

Did you even read the link? What exactly do you think "eponymous" means?
And yeah, I remember when the album came out too. I queued up to get it at HMV at midnight. Every piece of marketing and every interview I saw referred to it as a self-titled album.
