Massive Explosion in The Center of Oslo, Norway.

Isn't the stepbrother of the Crown Princess among the deceased or is that still unofficial yet? He was a 51 year old off-duty policeman who died saving his son.

At Storm Front someone made an issue of a guy named Isma Brown being among the dead stating "that this is what some people are calling an Nordic child". I believe that Isma is an immigrant from Africa and person from Storm Front has felt the need to point out his background (in the mistaken belief not his being non-white, and 21 years old, make his death more acceptable)

^ Here in northern europe we dont really have the same distinction as in other countries. The moment you're a citizen, you're a Swede, Norwegian, Finn whatever.

So the fact that this guy was descibed as a Norwegian is not at all strange. Hell we had a Pakistani in the paper a while back who became a citizen a few months earlier and he was described as a tenth generation Swede... I find it kinda annoying, but then again, who am i to talk. I'm a first generation swede myself.

As for Storm Front, a guy in my school is a member. Last time he made a comment i shoved my foot so far up his ass that he tasted shoe polish in his mouth for a week. Bunch of.... (I'll stop here. I'm afraid I'll never stop once i get the hang of it.)

I think he knew the numbers of people that would be there.
This camp has been active at least from the 1970s, so I am pretty sure he had plenty of info about it from the net.
Plus police says he had still plenty of ammo remaining after he was arrested.
From what I've heard, in the immediate aftermath of the bombing in Oslo, people who hadn't originally planned to attend the camp, began to show up in a show of solidarity. The impression I got is that there were roughly twice as many people in attendance at the camp, for this particular event, as there had been in previous years, and certainly more than anyone had anticipated. So I maintain that the gunman both hadn't realized how long it took to kill so many people, nor had he anticipated the number of people who were actually in attendance.

And also some have been saying that since Breivik is pro-Israel this is a 'Zionist' attack. I can rely on the internet to rework any news of interest to fit tidily into the rigid ideological strata of any given clique.

Yes, that has been confirmed.
He was apparently the first person who was shot by the gunman, he apparently managed to push his son aside just before.
There has been a story in a Finnish newspaper that suggests that this 10-year old boy stood up to the shooter, after the shooting. He was not killed.
There has been some reports that there where child as young as five in the island, also.

Here is an interview of two people who where among those who helped the young people from the island.
There are one of the heroes of this story, and they did manage to save quite a lot of people from the island:

The head of Norways domestic intel said, that she believes that the shooter is not insane, because he was "too focused for too long":

Police also evacuated earlier today part of the main train station of Oslo, because suspicious suitcase was found.
It is obvious that tensions run pretty high there right now.

~lowers my Canadian flag to half-mast in sympathy to those lost to the gunman and bomb explosion.~

To the grieving in Norway,
We Canadians & our allies in the United States stand with you in your time of grief.

Dear Prime Minister Harper,
May I respectfully request that you authorize and order all government (civic, provincial, territorial, and federal) offices to lower our flags across the nation to half-mast in visible sympathy to our friends in Norway & request that President Obama follow our example, if the U.S. flags haven't already been lowered.

How? I tried to leave a message but it didn't work. Since I don't understand Norwegian, what are the instructions to leave a condolence?

You have to login to leave a message. You can login via your facebook account, twitter, disqus, and I think you can write in your info. You have to click on the word that closely resembles "Login" in the message area.

Edit: Or you can just type your message and click the grey box in the lower right hand corner of the message box.

I had problems leaving a message with firefox, but with google chrome it worked.

Under the prime ministers message, you will see "Legg til ny kommentar" (add a new comment)

Write in the bubble, and then click the "kommenter som" (comment as"

Under "Før vi poster dette, hvem er du? (before we post this, who are you?) add your email and under "Navn" (name") write your name. Default is "Gjest" (Guest), but you will probably want to use another name.

Then you click on "Send kommentar" (send comment).

After doing all this, you will see this message

Oh! Maybe it will show up later then...I just tried again, and thought maybe they wanted my email address, so I put that in...but I didn't know what the rest of the message meant. I did put my name at the bottom of my message, so maybe they will accept that.

I didn't know they were telling me it needs approval before it shows up. Thank you for explaining.

(all I have is Firefox)
