"Kill Bill Vol. 3" on the way.

Yeah, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 is a complete story -- essentially the same story -- so a sequel should be called Kill Bill 2, but what do I know?

I think Kill Bill vols. 1 and 2 work well as a complete story, so this seems a bit odd, but whatever.

Agreed. I'll keep an open mind, but I'm honestly not sure following up an off-hand (in my view) segment of the first volume is really the best plot for a new one. * shrugs *

I'd rather he didn't make this, and given his track record on the subject of films he's announced to make (The Vega Brothers, his Mandarin kung-fu film, this) I'd take the news (which was old five years ago) with a grain of salt.
Well, he can't make this movie right now. He has to wait for the actors required to grow up, unless he's interested in recasting the kids and putting Thurman in old-age makeup.

All he can do right now it bank some footage of the kids growing up for use later. If he is doing that, then a third movie does seem likely.

It's suppose to be set 10 years later and 6 years have already passed since 2003. How long do you think he should wait?

Let me just get calculator out.
Now then... carry the three... divided by... multiply by Pi... carry the percentage...

er.. four years?

I read somewhere (possibly Wikipedia) that Tarantino, for the third instalment, intended to shoot a few scenes during the next ten years, to catch Uma Thurman and the two young actresses playing her and "Copperhead"'s daughters as they were growing up.

Daryl Hannah's character may still be alive, if now completely blind, so she could still appear in a third instalment in some capacity. More Daryl Hannah on the big screen is no bad thing, if you ask me. :bolian:

Which means that Tarantino needs to start writing yesterday. ;)

I think this is just one of those ideas, like the Vega brothers movie, that QT mentions in an interview without ever seriously intending to make. He seems to have all sorts of ideas floating about in that madcap brain of his but few of them ever make it to the page, never mind the screen.

And, whatever else you may think of him, Tarantino doesn't really care to repeat himself. He's gone from a heist movie to a portmanteau movie to an Elmore Leonard adaptation to a martial arts gorefest to a drive-in/ B-movie to a WWII movie. I don't see him going back to essentially re-do Kill Bill as Kill The Bride.

Kill Bill Vol. 3, eh? Interesting. I liked Vol. 1 a lot, Vol. 2 not as much. Unfortunately, since then I've become completely bored with Tarantino.

Actually if he can make it in the fun style of volume 1 I'd be game, if it's gonna be the long winded, pretentious, boring nonsense that vol 2 was I'll give it a miss.
A more concise and accurate description of the two films I've never encountered! :techman:

I hope they film my side story, "the Lesbian Lust of O-ren Ishii"
I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought O-Ren and Sofie made just the cutest couple ever! Actually, 'tis why I love fanfiction.net so much. :D

Why do we need a #3? I thought that 1 & 2 were great and didn't need any more sequels. If he's not careful he'll end up flogging a dead horse!

^^ He needs to do a Space Opera. :bolian:

That would be an interesting idea. You're right, he hasn't done something like that before.

My guess would be to pay homage to the cliches of past sci fi films, but focus mostly on a character-driven dialog-heavy story that somehow is very gory. Could work.

When #2 came out he said he would make a third one when Vivica Fox's daughter grew up enough to come for revenge against the Bride. Of course he also said he was going to make an anime flashback of the Deadly Divas. And he also said he was going to make a chop socky karate film in Mandarin. And he also... you get the idea.

I don't know about its content, but it has already been confirmed by the animation studio Production I.G. that they are working and are almost done with a new extended animation chapter for a re-release of kill bill
