New photo of Jodie in costume

I'm guessing that'll be taken down very quickly.

Costume looks much better than in the offical photo.

When I told my brother that I will b watching twice upon a time at the movie threates, he asked what that, I told him and he said will they explain how the doctor change his gender to female-that a bloody good question, how would kids react to the doctor changing into a woman-I don't think they will explain it at all.

I'm not worried about the kids. The kids probably won't give a shit that the Doctor is now a woman. It's the adults fan babies that I worry about.

Weird isn't it, how certain people can accept every molecule of the Doctor's body rearranging itself to turn Matt into Peter, but Peter into Jodie, well that's just ridiculous

Well anyone with a basic level of understanding of genetic sciences knows that changing molecules around existing DNA is far more likely then changing the X and Y chromosome. Maybe that's why it's not uncommon for there to be some aprehension and disbelief among adult fans, unless you are young Sheldon and study genetics at age 8, you wouldn't know that aspect of science.

It can also be the smug condescension that puts others off with the self appointed morally superior fans looking down their noses at anyone with a differing opinion in snarky judgement.

But I digress..

1. Why do you assume Timelord DNA has anything to do with human DNA? Why do you assume they even HAVE DNA?
2. Why do you apply real world science to a fiction construct?

It's hard out there for sexist fan, immirte?
But, seriously, when one espouses sexist ideas one should expect to be called out for it. That "smug condescension" is merely the 21st century calling people out.

1. It was stated that The Doctors' DNA was sampled and replicated and created Jenny.
2. At Demon's Run, Strax and Vastra display the baby's DNA and state there is also Timelord DNA.

I can't answer for everyone, but:

1. Time Lords or Gallifreyans? One is technically a subset of the other, though that doesn't mean Time Lords don't have advanced genetics to allow for what regular Gallifreyans cannot, such as regeneration... :D But when it comes to DNA, if you're thinking of genetic compatibility, reproduction, augmentation, it's extremely difficult - even with other species that share 98% DNA with humans, like pigs, the remaining 2% ensures we can't boink an oink and get anything approaching viable offspring... or a new flavor of bacon for that matter...

2. My favorite topic! :D It's because sci-fi incorporates real science or makes attempts to make fictional technological items seem plausible on some potentially-achievable level and with a set of rules the fiction must adhere to... compared to outright fantasy that does whatever for no reason (except to cut corners around plots and plot problems with even less guilt). Obviously real sci-fi takes more effort and talent than to scribble out any ol' magical fantasy fluff, but the effort and nuances honestly pay off better. But in the age old argument of Ginger vs Mary Ann Star Wars vs Star Trek, I pick Mary Ann Star Trek. Or The Professor (Doctor Who). Having noted that men are 98% pigs, I could be like Kryten and go into "Captain Jack Mode" and say I want Mary Ann and the Professor Star Trek and Doctor Who? Glad I don't have to look at a piece of "psychic paper" (sigh...)

Yea, there's a term for that.. it's called Virtue signaling.. For the record, calling me Sexist isn't going to shut me down, or shut me up, so better get used to people with opposing ideas otherwise the world is going to be a hard place for you to handle and not meltdown like a snowflake.. or get triggered.. that is also a 21st century term.

Also the Death of the Doctor with River Song and Amy and Rory. River indicates the Doctor's body has to be burned, because one drop of blood and his DNA would change all of humanity..

That’s fine. I didn’t expect it would.
What I would like is that you take a moment and ask yourself: am I being sexist?

so better get used to people with opposing ideas otherwise the world is going to be a hard place for you to handle

I don’t mind people with opppsing ideas. I mind people with backwards ideas.

Do you think I should just shrug off someone who is openly racist?

Lol. You should really look at your posting history before you accuse someone of being a snowflake and getting triggered. This thread is littered with your tantrums.

How did we get from sexism to racism? I'm confused. Do you want to just go for broke and throw in homophobic, gender neutral aphobic, and or bigoted, ignorant or Cis White Nazi too? Absurd conversation anyhow..

As a man with a daughter who he wants to see do well, the fact that someone like you with no knowledge of anyone's life outside of this forum could call anyone those over charged words with such frequency and ferocity just shows how truly delusional you can be without anything other then some disagreement over my preference for a traditionally Male Doctor, and objections for the need to appropriate a 50 year plus male role model to bring some kind of feminist ceiling breaking moment like the show is a symbol of activism, when it should be about its core values that made it what is was and why it endeared for so long.

As for a tv series spin-off with Time Lady's like Romana, or Jenny..or the Rani. There are so many good female timelords that the change of the Doctor actually is kind of an insult to women and feminists like yourself. It shows the BBC doesn't think a woman is capable of being a time lord ina spin-off show on her own merit, so they need the title of the Doctor and replace the character in regeneration for ratings, and because after class, they probably think a spin-off would fail. Kinda sexist..woman can't hack it without taking the male role. Or maybe its just they have to push an agenda..either way, it's the way it's been presented, the actress, and the companions.. Now, had Moffat and BBC handled series 10 better, then every episode of Bill reiterating she's gay..when okay we got it. Why does that matter? You're more then your gender, sexual preference, and race.. Get over it all ready and tell a good story.

I never said if it was done right that a female doctor couldn't work. But as is..Jodie I am not a fan of her acting. I don't think she's got the stones to fill the doctors shoes. I think her acting is limited, you need range and believability without coming off as a woman trying to be a man. She can't do it. I'd be surprised if she did well.

If it were done right to begin with, and a different actress was chosen, I may have been more open to the idea..even if I think the science behind it doesn't add up.. But you never asked me about that..

No..no..just a 1 dimensional person is all I am to a PC bully like you..just a simple 1 dimensional sexist, who needs to admit it..probably think it's another 21st century phrase..internalized misogyny..that is another bully buzz tactic.,as if these people have esp, can read your mind, or heart, and All have a psychology degree..

Not everyone is who you think they are, if triggered..there's more to someone then an opinion..calling labels to it based on your own personal moral code is a standard no one can ever match, because the judging of people is subjective to your own sensibilities.

I prefer freedom of thought over bullied forced acceptance.
