Kadin, who will no longer be involved in the Star Trek franchise going forward, served as an executive producer on Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard starring Patrick Stewart, Star Trek: Short Treks; the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks, the recently launched Star Trek: Prodigy and the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

BTW: Look at the comments of that article.

This was Star Trek producer Heather Kadin and her "valuable" insight into Star Trek:

He brought the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks into the company, along with its creator, Mike McMahan, and serves as executive producer on the series, which already has been renewed for a third season. No thanks. I'd rather have my finger slammed in a car door than waste my time reading inane crap from the dregs of internet society.

As for the Klingons? Yes, they are absolutely overused, to the point where they're now just unrecognizable prosthetic wearing alien thugs. But apparently the showrunners have learned their lesson, since now we're seeing neither hide nor tail of them.

She's not wrong, even as allies the klingons were constantly looking for an excuse to go to war. They were always portrayed as a violent, dangerous species who the federation could never truly trust.
Sure, if you want to generalize Klingons and disregard “Judgment”, “Affliction”, ”Divergence”, TUC & “The Emissary” for Klingons that break the mold.

Indeed.

Probably for the best. Discovery did well, but good grief did Berman era, even DS9, beat the Klingons in to the ground and made them completely unenjoyable.

What's weird is it seems like she must have had a important role in making modern Trek but this is also the first time I even heard her name before. I guess I wish her luck in her future jobs.

I’ve never stayed in a company for more than seven years. Due to some moves, some opportunities I couldn’t pass up and some poor career choices, I average about three years. Frankly, twelve years in this day and age is impressive.
First year, I love a job. Second year, it's just a job. Third year, I hate it and want out.

But, more often than not, it's not just that. My job experience, skill set, and/or life circumstances also change after three or four years. So a job that made sense to have at the beginning, doesn't make much sense to still have towards the end.

Love it when people take a single sentence, with no context, and claim that sums up a person's job performance over years and years of work.

The entire video is hilarious. It's only four minutes. Worth a watch.

They explain the intentions behind the new Klingon design.
These are supposed to be defensive Klingons, trying to protect their honor and their world. AKA Trump voter stand-ins.

"Star Trek: Discovery" creators: Our Klingons are secretly Trumpsters

The co-executive producer of the new series "Star Trek: Discovery" has told Rolling Stone that President Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign was "front and center in our minds" as they developed it — so much so that the rallying cry of the show's villains is specifically patterned after the Trumpster credo "Make America Great Again"

"We felt like it would be interesting to really look at what's going on in the United States," Aaron Harberts told Rolling Stone, noting that the series' primary villains — an extremist Klingon sect — scream "Remain Klingon," something deliberately reminiscent of "Make America Great Again."
