Roddenberry had created his own legend via the fan circuit at that point. The reality of the man was not as well-known as it is now.
Wellll… except they -did- all have starship-riding protagonists who in fact either were, or fell into, at least some of the roles of the traditional Star Trek positions of Captain, Science person, Engineer, Doctor, etc; even early-Picard and Prodigy, certainly Discovery. I like them all… and in the crew-positions sense, ALL of them kept at least some hold on the formula, nor is this a bad thing.Discovery works just fine for me. So did Lower Decks. So did Prodigy. Hell, Picard season 1 works just fine for me. None of those shows adhered to standard formula.
We don't know enough about it to say that. When I say ‘vanity project,’ I’m talking about using the Star Trek name for things that have very little to do with Star Trek.
We don't know enough about it to say that.
RudeHopefully we never will.
Rude
It's rude towards the people who do want to see it. Hoping that something they're excited for never happens.I see. It’s rude to think that Star Trek shouldn’t be a sitcom? Gotcha.

Yeah, but that was under the supervision of a TruFan not some randos we don't know their fan status.Eh, we had a Trek Sitcom for the last five years. Seemed to work out okay.
Yeah, that does seem like something you would do. Though with you, I'm sure you had an AI write your little tantrum note. Granted, it'll ultimately have zero impact on what Paramount decides to do. The opinions of one insignificant internet troll don't matter.I wrote them a letter and demanded the immediate cessation of all creative efforts regarding the already failed Tawny ClownTrek sitcom project. There is a time when rebellion needs to prevail over cowardice. This time is now..
