Happy Birthday to
triplittleminx - wow! And there I thought I had a complicated username =) have a great day with good friends and lots of cake!
Also, happy belated birthday to everyone who's b-day was somewhen between 9/11 and 9/14. My appologies for not congratulating you in time - I was away for a prolonged weekend and a 9/11 celebration. Naah, don't worry, I'm not a terrorist

.
On 9/11, 25 years ago was the day the Hungarians opened their border to Austria, thus enabling thousands of GDR citizens to go west (which started the German reunification). Frankly, to us natives living near the Austrian/German border it looked a bit like the Hun invasion under Attila, only with Trabbis instead of horses (about the same number of horsepowers though

). At any rate, since it all started on a 9/11, we must officially celebrate the day even though we have quite mixed feelings about it.
So, any of you having birthday on that day, you have even 2 important historical events on 2 different continents on your day. How cool is that?
And a little comfort to the 9/12, 9/13 and 9/14 folks:
on 9/12 in 490 BC the battle of Marathon took place. (Happy birthday to the Marathon run!)
on 9/13 in 1189 Richard Lionheart was crowned
on 9/14 in 1752 the British Empire adopted the Gregorian calendar. That year the 14th followed the 2nd - this way a lot of people didn't get older for 2 years. Many an actress nowadays might envy them
So, congrats to all of you. and I hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend!
