Happy Birthday LOST!

Six years ago today a television phenomenon was born. It started with a plane crash and ended...well if you saw season 6 you know how it ended.

The question remains...will there ever be another Lost? A show that captures the imagination of millions around the globe? Can it happen again? I'd like to think so. It won't be Lost. Maybe it won't be as good but it will happen some day I'm sure.


How soon into the show were you hooked? The opening sequence with Jack running on the beach through the wreckage was the first hook for me. Then the show really sunk it's teeth into me when it revealed that Locke was paralyzed before the crash and now he could walk. From that moment on I knew the show was for me. That plus all the awesome music by Michael Giacchino. It would not have been Lost without his contributions.


Anyways...all praise and thanks to the cast and the writers/producers and other crew members. Thanks for a hell of a ride. Hard to believe it's been 6 years.

Yes it can, and will, happen again. It will be something entirely different from Lost, though. Shows like The Event, that are trying to copy the formula are not going to be the next Lost. Lost became so popular, I think, because it truly was something that we had never seen before.

I just realized Lost debuted on a Wednesday and tonight Undercovers debuts which is the first pilot that JJ Abrams has directed since Lost. I wonder if that was intentional by NBC or just a coincidence.
