Guinan and Picard's first meeting

One thing that stuck out to me in the last episode is when Guinan says she can't wait to meet Picard, meaning that first proper meeting between the two characters. Their first meeting was in "Times Arrow" back in the late 1800s which is long before the year they are in now. Was this discrepancy explained in an earlier episode?

Time travel. It didn't happen in the Confed time line.

It was my understanding that they went back to just before the incident that made the timeline shift. So technically it's the same timeline.

They have not stopped it yet so it hasn't happened. Guinan would not remember.

But they were already in the altered timeline when they travelled back in time. Accordingly, the disrupting incident occurs unless they stop it.

Now, 25th century Guinan probably did , and will, remember both meetings. She just never said anything to Picard.
