I just wanted to see how many Pittsburgh Steelers fans we have on the board. Any fans of the black and gold other than the killer Stubby from Star Wars?

Yep, I'm a Pittsburgh native and big fan. It's amazing the team has gone as far as it has with a mediocre offensive line and inconsistent running game. These two areas showed improvement against the Chargers, but we're going to need them to rise to the occasion again big-time versus Baltimore.

Being the CHARGER fan I am, I bow to the Terrible towel fans..your team was great...one team was an calibre NFL team, one wasn't....I do think you are the team to beat. Though, since Ben already has a ring, I will pull for Donovan Mcnab should he make it...

Well, my favorite Pittsburgh team is the one currently spiralling pathetically down through the ranks of the NHL, but I'm cheering on the Steelers. At least there's one sport in Pittsburgh worth watching at the moment.

Um, no. But I do look forward to it every time the Ravens play the Steelers, moreso than any other team except maybe the fucking Colts, so I'll give 'em that.

Oh, and get those snot rags ready! :p

Having once lived in San Diego, I root for the Chargers whenever they are NOT playing my Steelers. There is a chance this could be an all-Pennsylvania super bowl. But Baltimore will be VERY tough to beat.

I'll be rooting for the Steelers. The Ravens have been on my bad list ever since Art Modell hijacked the Browns out of Cleveland and dumped them in Baltimore.

Well, my allegiance is already pretty clear from some other threads, but I am definitely a Steelers fan! I was born in Pittsburgh, and my family have been fans going back at least two generations.

I was amazed by how good the team looked against the Chargers (especially the offense, which has struggled a lot this year)!

That offense though was mired until TD drive right before half-time After that they finally got it in gear and kicked it up a notch in the second half. The defense played inspiringly well, which is saying something.

BTW.... Polamalu is going to be hampered by a calf injury in the game Sunday.

Yeah, but it's a calf injury he suffered right before the Chargers game, so hopefully he'll be in better shape by Sunday, even though he won't be at 100%.

Oh please. Teams move. No city has been more profoundly fucked over by that fact than Baltimore; Cleveland's one year without a team doesn't even come close. Do you also hate the Colts and the Titans?

At least Cleveland got another team almost immediately and we didn't steal their name, logo, colors, records and claim their hall-of-famers as our own.

I didn't say I hated any team. But I'm not too fond of the Colts either. The first NFL games I ever attended were as a child living in Baltimore in the early 1960's, but sneaking off to Indianapolis ended that relationship for me.

That was part of the deal when the league approved the move, unlike the Colts earlier unilateral (and unapproved at the time) move.

Both fanbases need to let it go, because they have teams, now. Although it doesn't compare with the dearth in Baltimore, Cleveland was without their team for three years. Then again, considering their record since then some say it seems a lot longer than that.

Getting back to talking about the Steelers.... ;) .... Willie Parker being back to healthy may be the key to this weekend's game. He brings some excellent speed and agility (wasn't he undrafted?) that gives the Steeler offense some badly needed energy. The question is can the Ravens defense dig deep one more time? THey've had to do an awful lot the past couple of weeks and haven' had near the rest the Steelers team has had.

Meh. I was rooting for San Diego. Baltimore did me a favor and put away
Tennesse... however they are fairly bland. :shifty:

Ah what the hell, go Steelers! But I'll be rooting for either NFC team over
either AFC team this year anyways. Go Cardinals! ;)

Jones has historically been ineffective against the Ravens. That said, if Suggs can't go due to his shoulder sprain, that could prove to be the deciding factor in terms of getting the pressure they need to disrupt the Steelers' O. I'd be very surprised if he didn't play, but his effectiveness might be limited...
