Generations movie, No one with these children question

PatB1974

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Forgive me if this has already been asked, I couldn't find a thread about it. In Generations after the warp core breach during the evacuation, Geordi and some crewmen find a group of children alone. Why were they alone? Did their teacher abandon their post and leave them? I never really thought about this until my latest watch through. Also it still breaks my heart that they abandoned the little girl's Teddy bear to it's fate.

If we saw it again, it would have been like the red coat from Schindler's List... Did we see it again? I haven't watched Generations since a decade ago.

Teacher went back to find Cousin Oliver Alexander the wayward kid who didn't have time for 40 minutes of being center of the plot's attention, who was playing with the pet Melmackian Alligators in the zoo. Not unlike what transpired in that 5th season extravaganza "New Ground", except it's not the main bridge crew hightailing it down there.

Gorgeous! The graceful glides and turns of the ship are utterly iconic! :luvlove:

Got some neat ASMR time for that third vidclip there... I think the movie's watching again, nitpicks or not, and even the set-piece scenes hold up regardless of anything else. It's not TNG's worst flick by any measure, and how it's referenced in PIC is pretty dang great...

And speakin' of nitpicks:

That is such a beautiful ship. Probably second in my book only to the TMP refit Enterprise. It is an absolute crime that they offed it in their first film outing. First Contact should have been set onboard the D.
